We went 4-0 in our midweek tips including a $2.48 winner as Burnley defeated Stoke at home. We’ll be looking to back it up with a solid performance over the weekend as we preview Week 32 of the 2016-17 EPL season.
EPL Week 32 Betting Tips
Tottenham vs Watford (Saturday, 9.30pm AEST)
If it wasn’t for Chelsea’s miraculous run sitting 7 points clear atop the table, many would probably see Tottenham’s season so far as one of the best in recent history. Their 19-8-3 record on the year so far is good for 2nd spot on the table and their current win streak of 5 games is tied for the league best with surging Leicester. They’ll get a well-deserved home game against Watford on Saturday night after 2 impressive away wins over Burnley and Swansea.
Watford have played their last 2 at home and have also achieved impressive wins over Sunderland and particularly West Brom. It’ll be a massive step up in class here though as they travel to White Heart Lane where the Spurs are undefeated through 15 games this year and where Watford haven’t won a game since 1985. Can’t see that record changing here as Tottenham should earn maximum points by a handy margin.
TIP: Tottenham -1 - $1.80 at bet365
Sunderland vs Manchester United (Sunday, 10.30pm AEST)
Two teams that have consistently struggled to find the back of the net do battle Sunday night as Man-U travel to Sunderland to take on the Black Cats. Sunderland have now failed to score in their last 6 premier league games while the Red Devils are unbeaten through their last 21 games, but have drawn a whopping 11 of them.
With just 43 goals on the season so far, Manchester’s mark is by far the lowest of any of the top 7 teams, but they’ll have a massive chance to find the back of the net a few times here as they come up against bottom of the table Sunderland, who have a league worst -29 goal difference. United’s defence should be too strong for Sunderland here.
TIP: Sunderland Zero Goals - $1.83 at bet365
Middlesbrough vs Burnley (Sunday, 12am AEST)
How Middlesbrough have started as favourites in this one is beyond me, I think the bookies are reading a little too much into the home field advantage this here. Granted Burnley haven’t won a game away from home all year, but Middlesbrough’s home record hasn’t been the best either. Burnley are coming off a great win over Stoke through the week and should have their tails up.
Middlesbrough’s 22 goals for on the season so far is a league worst and while they do possess a fairly strong defence, allowing them to pick up 11 draws throughout the season, they have lacked the firepower to win games. Trust Burnley to pick up at least a point here.
TIP: Burnley (draw no bet) - $2.20 at Sportsbet
Manchester City vs Hull City (Sunday, 12am AEST)
Manchester City suffered a disappointing loss to Chelsea on the weekend to dash their title hopes. They’ll now be fighting to stay in the top four with Arsenal breathing down their neck just 4 points back. Hull are in a similar position, just 2 points clear of the relegation zone with Swansea looking to make a late run at them. Hull have won their last two games against West Ham and Middlesbrough but it’ll get tougher for Hull here with games against Man City, Stoke, Southampton and Tottenham all to come.
Can’t see a way in which Hull secure even a point here away from home. There’s not much meat left on the bone for Manchester City, with the bookies opening them at $1.04 to win. A three goal margin is the one that offers value here and we lie the Citizens to cover that.
TIP: Manchester City -2 - $2.63 at Sportsbet
