Chiefs vs Western Force (Friday 5.35pm AEDT)
The Chiefs title hopes have been dealt a massive blow as superstar flyhalf Aaron Cruden has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a torn ACL. The injury occurred in last week’s victory over the Crusaders in Christchurch. Andrew Horrell will be included as the new number 10 for the Chiefs. It is a massive blow as Cruden is not only instrumental in attack but he is also the goal kicker. The Chiefs should still be too good for the Force, especially at home but I like the Force with a 16.5 point start.
TIP: Force +16.5 @ $1.92 with Sportsbet
Brumbies vs Highlanders (Friday 7.55pm AEDT)
The Brumbies have suffered back-to-back losses for the first time this season and it is mainly due to their injury toll. At the beginning of the season coach Stephen Larkham had the luxury of naming unchanged sides for weeks on end. Injuries are inevitable and unfortunately they have come at a time when winning is vital. They still hold on to the top of the conference but they have the Waratahs hot on their heels. The Highlanders have won their last three matches, however they lost their focus against the Blues when they let them back into the match after getting out to an early 24-0 lead. The Brumbies have only lost twice in matches at home against the Highlanders, but that record could be in jeopardy.
TIP: Highlanders +7.5 @ $1.92 with Luxbet
Crusaders vs Blues (Saturday 5.35pm AEDT)
The Crusaders are in a do or die position. They haven’t missed the finals for close to a decade and a loss here would be a massive blow to their chances of advancing. They have never lost at Christchurch stadium against the Blues and I expect them to fire up and put a lot of points on a Blues side that has struggled throughout the entire season.
TIP: Crusaders -8.5 @ $1.92 with Sportsbet
Waratahs vs Rebels (Saturday 7.55pm AEDT)
The Waratahs host the Rebels as they come off of a massive win against the Hurricanes last week. The Waratahs were the first side to defeat the Hurricanes and to do it away from home was very impressive. They began to look like the champions from last season as their attack was dangerous and their defence was hitting hard. Meanwhile the Rebels won in Canberra for the first time, however they have only beaten the Tahs once and with them hitting their straps they won’t manage to upsets in a row.
TIP: Waratahs -10.5 @ $1.92 with Sportsbet
Lions vs Cheetahs (Sunday 1.05am AEDT)
These two sides have been inconsistent throughout the season, however the Lions have managed to steal a couple of victories at the death against big opponents. They will also have the advantage of playing at home. It is likely for this match to be free flowing and entertaining, especially now that the Cheetahs chances of making the finals are all but diminished. However, the unpredictability of the sides makes me want to steer clear of this one.

Stormers vs Bulls (Sunday 3.10am AEDT)
This is by far the match of the round as it brings together the two sides on top of the South African conference. The Bulls are ahead by two points, however they lost to the Stormers in the opening round at home and will be looking for revenge as they travel to Newlands. The Bulls have a half decent record at the stadium and if they continue their recent form they will consolidate their position at the top of the conference.
TIP: Bulls @ $2.20 with Luxbet
Reds vs Hurricnaes (Sunday 4.05pm AEDT)
The Reds earned themselves an away win last week against the Cheetahs as their star signing finally found some form. James O’Connor dominated parts of the match and put himself in the hunt for a test call up as he tore the Cheetahs defence to shreds. They come up against a much tougher opponent this week and one that will be looking for redemption as they lost their first match of the season last week at home. The Hurricanes still sit on the top of the Super Rugby ladder but a loss here would undo all of their hard work throughout the start of the season. They will bounce back and in a big way.
TIP: Hurricanes -6.5 @ $1.92 with Luxbet
