Highlanders vs Chiefs (Friday 5.35pm AEDT)
Everyone expected the Chiefs to find themselves in the finals this season however the Highlanders have been the real surprise packets of the year. They have been consistent throughout the season and have put together their best year in Super Rugby.
However, with their inexperience in this position, all of their hard work could come to an incredible end as they come up against a Chiefs side that is regular finalists and were back to back champions only a couple of years ago.
The Chiefs are beginning to look stronger as their side returns to health, however they are still without their star flyhalf Aaron Cruden who suffered an ACL injury a couple of months ago.
If this match wasn’t played on the Highlanders own soil, it could be a run away match. However, I still expect the Chiefs to dominate with their strong forward pack and their running game is always dangerous on the counter attack. Superstar Sonny Bill Williams should have dusted off the cobwebs last week and he will be ready to put in a big performance this week which should be enough to get them over the line in this one.

Stormers vs Brumbies (Sunday 1.05am AEDT)
The Brumbies are heading to South Africa on the back of a disappointing loss last week at home to the Crusaders. However, a lot could be taken out of the match that saw their forwards dominate from the line out. Matt Tomoua also made a successful return as he came off the bench and made a big impact over the last 25 minutes of the match.
He will start this weekend and it will boost the starting side. David Pocock is also expected to overcome concussion and start for the side, if he was absent it would be a massive blow to their chances as he does so much work for the side and organises their dangerous mauls so well.
The Stormers are also entering the finals on the back of a loss and their performance last week suggests they don’t deserve to make it into this years playoffs. However, that will make them all the more keen to come out and prove their critics wrong, would should scare the Brumbies.
This will be the Brumbies second trip to South Africa to face the Stormers this season as the Stormers were one point victors in that much that saw Christian Leilafano miss a conversion from directly in front.
