Minnesota Vikings at Arizona Cardinals - Friday, Dec. 11 at 12:25pm AEST
The University of Phoenix Stadium will host Thursday night football as the Arizona Cardinals will look for their 7th straight win. The visiting Minnesota Vikings are looking to get back on track after a 31-point thrashing at the hands of the Seattle Seahawks.
Minnesota is in a tie with Green Bay in the NFC North at 8-4 and Arizona is three games clear in the NFC West. However, Seattle are starting to ramp things up and are hot on the heels of the Cardinals and so I believe this game will be of extra importance to them. On current form you would think the Cardinals should win this game by something like two touch downs.
Tip: Arizona Cardinals at the line (-8.5) - $1.95 at William Hill
Dallas Cowboys at Green Bay Packers - Monday, Dec. 14 at 8:25am AEST
The Packers have been travelling better than expected in the NFC North, currently 8-4 and tied at the top of the table. If the Vikings lose this weekend as we suggest above, then Green Bay have the opportunity to move to outright leader if they can overcome the Cowboys this Monday.
There is a reason the Packers are favourites here, but I think the 7.5 points is a bit of a public reaction on the back of the Packers ridiculous hail mary TD in the dying moments against Detroit last week. No doubt Rodgers was extremely clutch to throw that TD, but we have to remember how woeful the Packers were during parts of that game. And that's not to mention that they had lost four times in five games prior to that miracle. The Packers have even lost the last two games at home. There looks like a touch of value on the Cowboys to cover.
Tip: Dallas Cowboys at the line (+7.5) - $1.95 at William Hill
New England Patriots at Houston Texans - Monday, Dec. 14 at 12:30pm AEST
One of the talking points around Patriots V Texans games is that Houston's coach Bill O'Brien was a protégé of New England's Bill Belichick. O'Brien was actually part of the Patriots undefeated 2007. There was a period that this season was looking almost as good for the Patriots, but they have lost the last two in a row now and are looking shaky. The Texans, meanwhile, have won four in a row and sit tied atop the AFC South table.
The Pats certainly haven’t been at their best in almost any aspect of their game, but it is the special teams that is really letting them down as last week against the Eagles they gave up a punt return touchdown and a punt was blocked for a touchdown. Brady also threw a pick six. There is no doubt that the Patriots will be looking to turn this kind of form around, but it just looks like the Texans are value with the 3.5 points here. They are one of the best pass defense teams in the comp at the moment and with Brady seemingly not at his best, we can't go past the Texans. The line has been backed into $1.80 at some books, but you can get that juicy $1.95 at William Hill.
Tip: Houston Texans at the line (+3.5) - $1.95 at William Hill
New York Giants at Miami Dolphins - Tuesday, Dec. 15 at 12:30pm AEST
The Giants have simply looked terrible lately. They have lost three games in a row and five losses this year have come with some questionable final quarter decision making from coach Tom Coughlin. They are coming off an OT loss to the Jets last week and have lost by just a combined 10 points in the last three games.
The Giants are struggling on the offense, with their running game ranked 29th - which is almost as bad as Miami's run defense which is ranked 30th. The only positive for the Dolphins here is that the Giants are the worst pass defense in the league and this is where the Dolphins will be aiming to exploit. I actually think this is quite an even matchup and with the Giants struggling so much, I think the Dolphins could get it done. The Giants have won the last three matchups in Miami, so the Dolphins will be looking to redeem themselves in front of the home crowd.
Tip: Miami Dolphins to win - $1.99 at Sportsbet
