Green Bay Packers at Detroit Lions – Friday, December 4 at 12:25pm AEST
The Green Bay Packers head to Ford Field in Detroit and will try and right-the-ship after starting the season with six straight wins the Packers have lost four of their last five. Meanwhile the Detroit lions have won three in a row. None more impressive than last week’s 45 -14 win over Philadelphia. We only have to go back to November 16th this year when these two teams met in Green Bay and Detroit came away with a two point upset victory.
Revenge will be a big motivational weapon for the Packers. Not that they need any extra motivation as a loss would drop them two games behind Minnesota in the NFC North race. The line opened at -4.0 (GB) and after the blowout win by Detroit and the shock loss from the Packers the line currently sits at -3.0 (GB). I think this is a knee jerk reaction to one week of football scores. It was just one week ago when the Packers went into Minnesota and looked like a Super bowl team again.
Green Bay had three fumbles in the loss to Chicago on Thanksgiving and I think it was just one of those games. Look for the usual suspects to ramp things up in these final weeks of the season. Aaron Rodgers, Eddie Lacy and the Packers D will prevail today.

Carolina Panthers at New Orleans Saints – Monday, December 7 at 8:25am AEST
The top of the table clash with the bottom as the Carolina Panthers put their unbeaten record on the line against NFC South rivals the New Orleans Saints. The Panthers are now the last unbeaten team left in the NFL and I cannot see them slowing down anytime soon.
Carolina’s head coach Ron Rivera or “Riverboat Ron” has found the perfect balance and formula. This team is built for December and January football. On Offense they don’t do anything funky or risky in fact sometimes it looks predictable but what they do, they do well. They rank 3rd in points per game averaging 30.2 and this is basically all from running it down the throat of opposing defenses.
The Panthers defense is scary good. They rank 5th against Aerial offense, 2nd against the run, 3rd in total points per game and 2nd in total yards. Well rounded would be an understatement. There is no way I can trust the Saints who rank almost dead last in every defensive category. Carolina are 9-2 ATS and until they stop being profitable we are going to keep swallowing the points.

Indianapolis Colts at Pittsburgh Steelers - Monday, December 7 at 12:30pm AEST
Sunday Night Football has the Indianapolis Colts travelling to Heinz Field in Pittsburgh. Both teams are in the playoff picture but with everything so bunched up the Colts and Steelers will need to continue to win to secure a post season ticket.
There was some confusion over the actual condition of Ben Roethlisberger. Big Ben was hit high in the fourth quarter last week and even though he told reporters he didn’t have a concussion it was later confirmed that he actually did. He will definitely play today and if he plays anything like last year’s record breaking effort the Colts defense will have their hands full. Big Ben threw for 522 yards with six touchdowns versus the Colts last season.
The Colts will once again be without Andrew Luck. Although back up QB Matt Hasselback is 4-0 on the season as a starter. The 40 year old back up has plenty of confidence at the moment especially targeting receiver’s Donte Moncrief and T.Y Hilton. I believe this game will be a high scoring Aerial assault from both offenses.

Dallas Cowboys at Washington Redskins – Tuesday, December 8 at 12:30pm AEST
The Dallas Cowboys once again lost Tony Romo to a small fracture in the same clavicle. That means the Cowboys will head into Washington with back up QB Matt Cassel. An Alarming trend is that the Cowboys have lost every game that Romo did not start. Both these teams belong to the NFC East and it’s possibly the worst conference ever. Washington moved to the top with a big win last week against the Giants. The Giants sit in 2nd with 5 wins and Philadelphia sit in 3rd with 4 wins while Dallas with just 3 wins can mathematically make the playoffs. Huh!!!!?
All these teams have losing records yet someone is going to the playoffs. If the AFL adopted this zone system we could potentially have Carlton v Hawthorn as a round 1 finals match.
The loss of Romo is just too large for this Dallas team to overcome. I can only imagine the Cowboys spirit in the locker room is very low. The Redskins will be very confident after beating the Giants and are a very good football team at home. They are 5-1 at home and quarter back Kirk Cousins has thrown 10 touchdowns with NO interceptions.
Tip: Washington Redskins at the line (-4.5) - $1.92 at CrownBet
