Well it’s here. Super Bowl week brings with it controversy, dynasties and a whole lot of superstar players. By now you would of herd the term “deflate gate” being used in the media. It’s a big story, but I don’t believe this will be a distraction for anyone. Come kick off time, the only thing that will matter is New England Patriots vs Seattle Seahawks.
As I mentioned before this is a star-studded Super Bowl. Every position on the field seems to have a potential hall of famer. These two teams also look very evenly matched (at least on paper). Both have championship winning coaches and quarter backs. Either team on their day are world champions.
In saying that I believe New England have more answers and the Seahawks more questions.
Seattle has little to no passing game and this will become very apparent vs this New England defense. The way Seattle score is through Marshawn Lynch or their cerebral (and mobile) quarterback Russel Wilson. New England will most likely use a “spy” on Wilson and also load the box to stop Lynch.
The New England Defense has proved they can be disciplined versus this style of Offense. They know how to “stay at home” against running quarterbacks and not get sucked in. All that leaves is over the top passes to Doug Baldwin and he has no chance against New England corner Darrelle Revis.
A LOW SCORING AFFAIR
There are quite a few reasons why I also believe this will stay UNDER the total (48.5)
Seattle has a very good secondary and that will most likely cause the Patriots to beat them with the short passing game or running the ball. Both ways will chew up time on the clock.
We all know Seattle’s passing game won’t be a big factor as Seattle uses their ground game to beat teams (or depend on their defense scoring). Another reason I believe the game stays under 48.5. Don’t get me wrong, there will be touchdowns in this game but not seven.
