The Blues locked up the series in game 2. Now all the pressure is on the Maroons.
It's been eight long years since the blues won the series, and 2000 was the last time the blues won in a whitewash. With the pressure of winning out of their minds, the question is, can the blues sum up enough to defeat a reshuffled Maroon side?
The Maroons welcome back Cooper Cronk at halfback, after he missed game 2 with a broken arm, pushing Daley Cherry Evans back onto the pine. Will Chambers makes his origin debut replacing an injured Brent Tate. Chris McQueen is also missing due to injury.
Fear ran through the Queensland camp earlier in the week when Johnathon Thurston suffered a knee complaint during training. Subsequently he has been named and will suit up tonight making him the 8th player in Origin history to notch up 30 appearances.
In a rare display Greg Inglis, the all-time leading Origin try scorer, has failed to score during this series. The last time Inglis didn’t score during a series was back in 2008. Queensland has gathered many of the 49 players who have worn the Maroon during their 8 year winning streak.
Josh Morris, James Mcmanus and Boyd Cordner all return for the Blues, with Will Hopoate, Michael Jennings and Anthony Watmough all unavailable.
Robbie Farrah made statements comparing himself to the Maroons’ Captain Cameron Smith, reportedly stating that he's better than Cam Smith.Robbie if you were truly better you'd be wearing the No.9 jersey for Australia! It’s safe to assume Smith and the rest of the Maroons will be targeting Robbie in Game 3.
Aside from that it’s all about Jarryd Hayne in the Blues camp, he has absolutely crushed this series, and will be looking to secure the Wally Lewis Medal as Player of the Series.
At home the Maroons are hard to beat, they went down in Game 1, suffering injuries early and arguably underestimating the drive of the Blues. We see the Maroons getting up in Game 3, they have the skill, and they will do anything to stop the whitewash, their eight years of glory and pride is on the line.
We will be betting Queensland at the line (-4.5) and taking advantage of the Betfair promotion which sees the odds enhanced on the line market from under $2 up to $3. The max bet for this promotion is $50 and you must opt in at the promotions hub on Betfair.
