2014 College Football Betting Tips
Alabama Crimson Tide at Ole Miss
When: Sunday 5th October 2014 at 6:30 AM AEST
Where: Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, Oxford, MS
The College football season is starting to heat up and the SEC showdown between Mississippi and Alabama is shaping up to be a memorable one. ESPN’s College Gameday will be setting up camp in Oxford for the first time ever but it’s CBS that will be telecasting this clash of the titans.
Ole Miss are entering this game with all the pressure. They are currently undefeated at 4-0 and have the most impressive defense giving up only 8.5 points per game. Although this game will be a completely different beast. Playing Alabama is high stakes and high pressure, especially an undefeated Alabama.
Nick Sabans’ Crimson Tide are putting up almost 600 yards of Offense per game. QB Blake Sims seems to have found a favourite go to guy in Amari Cooper. Cooper has already amounted 43 catches for 655 yards. Having someone as reliable as Sims would be so comforting for both the Coach and Quarterback. The Tide also have a very strong three-pronged attack in the backfield which makes for a very balanced run and pass offense. Ole Miss’s defense will have a very hard time in this one.
Ole Miss are more one dimensional on offense and rely heavily on quarterback Bo Wallace. This will create a lot of pressure on the 6-foot-4 senior who showed signs of cracking last week against Memphis with two interceptions and a fumble.
Alabama are also very comfortable with this type of atmosphere and have to deal with it on a weekly basis. They have won the last 10 in a row against Ole Miss and have also had an extra week to prepare. Actually the Tide has only lost one game out of 22 in October dating back to 2008. I believe Ole Miss will crumble in this spot.
This just might be Johnny Houston’s free College Football ‘Game of the year’ pick
