Warrnambool hosts a three-day carnival which is one of Australia’s best known country racing carnivals. The carnival showcases several great flat races and several great steeple chase events. Tuesday’s card features 10 races with the $150k Scotty Stewart Brierly Steeplechase as the feature. The first race commences at 11:20am AEST and the last concludes at 4.30pm AEST. The rail is True and Conditions are set to be SOFT. Watch and monitor.

Day 1: Warrnambool Racing Tips: Tuesday, April 29th 2025
Race 5: Callaghan Motors Vobis Gold Strike – 1000m – 1:45pm (AEST)
(1) Killiana $2.50: 2YO Filly who blew them away on debut winning by almost 5L. Second up run was against open grade and finished only 1L off them in 4th. Back to the winners circle third up in open class winning nicely. She looks a smart type already and will be the one to beat for sure. Untested on the wet, but hard too look past.
(4) Mrs Iglesia $7.50/$2.30: Stablemate to the favourite. First up run was a well-executed run to salute and looks capable of going on with it now. Has ran a handy second on the wet track previously, so has that box ticked for this.
(12) Miss Ole $5.00: 2YO Filly who is making her debut, but has had two handy jump out efforts prior. She has gone $20 into $5, although scratching’s have occurred this is a nice go. Appears to be a danger.

Race 6: 3YB FM Scotty Stewart Brierly Steeplechase - 3450m - 2:20pm (AEST)
(1) Berry The Cash $13.00/$3.50: 8YO Gelding who boasts a terrific record and is a 7x winner from 11 attempts at the jumps. Rates pretty well and with this his third up run he looks a top chance here at the odds. Jockey/horse combo record is fantastic and he will be in this for a long way.
(2) Leaderboard $3.40: 10YO Gelding who has been dominant in his last two starts over the jumps. Very handy jumper and loves the wet track. Top jockey Will Gordon remains on top and he rates well for this. The one to beat.
(4) Port Guillaume $3.30: 8YO Gelding who is always genuine over the jumps. He his hard fit and has been well supported in the early market for this. Worth thought.

Race 10: Carter Group National BM64 - 1100m – 4:20pm (AEST)
(3) Hedonist $7.00/$2.40: 3YO Gelding who has been honest in both is last two runs. Generally misses the start which becomes costly. Draws well and if he jumps he looks a danger.
(4) Stokke $2.60: 4YO Mare who has been racing very well. Most recently won by over a length at Caufiled in similar company. Proven wet tracker and rates really well for this first up. Blake Shinn remains in the saddle and happy to be on.
(14) Du Clisson $8.50/$2.50: 3YO Filly who was handy on return finishing second in similar grade. Fitter now and looks to be another chance for this. Watch the market.
