South Africa vs Australia 3rd T20 Preview & Betting Tips
Durban, Sunday 10pm (AEST)
Australia were too good once again in G2, taking a unassailable 2-0 lead in the series on the back of another brilliant performance from skipper Mitch Marsh.
Batting first, South Africa performed marginally better with the willow then they did in Game 1, posting 164/8 on the back of a 49 from captain Aiden Markram. Temba Bavuma also found some form at the top of the order, smashing 35 off just 17 balls to get the home side off to a strong start.
Pacemen Nathan Ellis and Sean Abbott were the pick of the bowlers for Australia, each taking three wickets off their respective four overs.
In reply, the Aussies made short work of the target, chasing down the 164 in just 14.5 overs thanks to brilliant innings from Mitch Marsh and Matthew Short. After losing the wicket of opener Travis Head at 1-32, Short and Marsh put on a 100 run partnership to ice the game. The Aussie skipper finished with an unbeaten 79, meaning he’s now made 192 runs across the two games and is yet to be dismissed.
Betting Tips
Hard to look past how dominant the Australians have been in the first two games. They have barely put a foot wrong with bat or ball and Mitch Marsh is in some rare white ball form at the moment. If he can bring this sort of form into the ODI World Cup, the Aussies will be a favourite to win their fifth trophy, so it’s no surprise they start as almost unbackable favourites for this 3rd T20.
The South Africans are also without arguably their most important player, Marco Jansen, as the young all-rounder was granted leave after the first game to take part in his sisters wedding.
Back them to get the job done regardless of how the two teams line up on Sunday night.
Player Props
Young paceman Lizaad Williams has been the pick of the South African bowlers throughout the two games so far, taking four total wickets when they have proved hard to come by. $4.75 seems value for him to top the SA wicket-takers again.

Sean Abbott has been an incredibly consistent performer any time he has pulled on the green and gold. Racked up 33 player performance points in Game 1 before a big 90 point performance in the 2nd game. Back him to clear his line again.
