Only a quiet Sunday on the Australian racing front for us, with just two selections for Cranbourne this afternoon. Trent Crebbin thinks a shorty will get the money and is also keen on one at big odds.

Have to take on the favourite (8) Savannah Cloud here. I think he’s a handy horse and can play a part in the Spring, but he draws wide here first up and will get over further than 1200m so the $1.70 looks a touch short. Going to spec (17) Return To Me for the Olly/O’Brien combo, replacing Fred Kersley. She ran on a heavy track on debut behind Yosemite and Poland which is a solid form line. She wasn’t disgraced there whatsoever and gets a slightly firmer surface here today which I think will suit. The draw is a touch sticky, but she should be somewhere on pace and at the price is worthy of an each way ticket.
(3) West Wind looks the winner here. She’s found one better at her last two, but she’s only been beaten small margins and by quality mares. In the small field she should get every chance to control this race on speed and if she does get an easy time of it, they won’t run her down. Clearly the horse to beat and anything above $2 seems fair.
