Horse Racing Tips: Monday, March 30th
Wagga Race 1 - (Market)
I was keen on (3) Costa Chin Chin at the Sapphire Coast on Friday and looking at the depth of the race here, no need to get off him. He has been up for a while but is still racing well enough and surely that maiden win isn’t far away. He has placed at 7 of his 12 career runs including the last four. Two back in the soft track at Canberra he was near last throughout before running on strongly back closer to the rail into second. He then went to Orange and again was poorly away, well back on the rails settling before angling clear and being slightly held-up late in eth straight. He was never going to win the race but probably should have ran second. If he can jump away with them and settle closer, he should be strong enough late.

Wagga Race 4 - (Market)
(7) Rescorla debuted at Canberra back in November, he was big odds and after getting right back in the run, showed very little and was sent straight to the paddock. It is to be noted that he was beaten by a horse called Farnan that day on debut, he of course won the Golden Slipper last weekend and is the best 2YO in the land. He resumed after 17 weeks at Queanbeyan, there was money for him from double figures into an SP of $9. He got into a good position and settled just behind the speed, he stuck on well for third but did have every chance. This looks no harder and he will be better for the run, gets the good claim and may be more beneficial to get to the outside in the straight. He would only need to improve slightly on the 9-day back-up to at least run a place in this.
Swan Hill Race 2 - (Market)
(18) Lola Mae is an interesting runner for the Maher/Eustace stable resuming. She showed absolutely nothing in two starts in NSW at her first prep for the yard, the latest before going to the paddock she was beaten almost 6 lengths in a Taree maiden! She stays with the stable which is a good thing as she has obviously shown something, she has been good at two jump-outs leading into this. She led all the way at Camperdown then hit the line well at Caulfield against some better performed horses. Would really like to see some money for her but she looks a good each-way bet at the current quote and I love the booking of Linda Meech. She is the fourth emergency so will need some luck getting a run, she didn’t get a run yesterday as an emergency at Hamilton.
Swan Hill Race 3 - (Market)
(7) Prince Of Helena had trialed well prior to making his debut at Albury 10 days ago. He was double figure odds at start one and settled well back in the field. He eased wide at the top of the straight and was very green, I liked the way he ran through the line though getting into third. He goes from 1175m to the big track over 1300m which should suit and this certainly looks no harder. He should get a soft run on the inside and only needs luck to be a good each-way bet to nothing.
