NBL Round 15 Betting Tips

Illawarra Hawks vs Perth Wildcats

Friday, 7:30pm AEDT

Illawarra have been pretty competitive of late without much success, such is the lack of star talent on their roster. Last weekend they losers to both Melbourne and Adelaide, which saw their record fall to 5-15 on the season and leave them well last on the ladder heading into Round 15.

Perth come into this in some indifferent form themselves. They were easy losers in their only Round 14 game and have now lost three of their past four games. They’re still sitting very pretty in second spot on the ladder, but the pack behind them is closing hard and they wouldn’t want to continue on their current form pattern.

The Hawks have been without their young star import in LaMelo Ball for a couple of weeks now and it’s still unclear whether or not we’ll see him play in this game. Regardless, we have the Wildcats being too strong the road here. They desperately need a win and we expect them to get one against a much weaker opponent in the Hawks.

Sydney Kings vs Cairns Taipans

Saturday, 5:30pm AEDT

The Kings were winners in their last game against the 36ers, defeating them at home by 14 points (91-77). It was certainly a much-needed win for the Kings as they were going through an unexpected form slump with losses in five of their seven games prior. Despite their indifferent form of late, the Kings come into this in first place and look the team to beat in the playoffs.

The Taipans are one of the form teams coming into this game and were winners in their only Round 14 game. They defeated the Bullets by two points at home (91-89) to take their current win streak to four games. This surge has seen them put pressure on Melbourne United for the third seed on the ladder as we approach the second week of the new year.

The Taipans have been the giant killers all season but now that they’ve asserted themselves inside the top four, we expect the big clubs to take a lot more notice of them. The Kings have had a couple of disappointing results in a row and at home, we like them to make amends with a big win over a fellow contender.

Sydney Kings -2.5

NZ Breakers vs Brisbane Bullets

Sunday, 3:00pm AEDT

The Breakers come into this as the form team of the competition having won each of their past five games. Last round they took care of business against the Phoenix on the road by five points (92-97), which put them in a big position to make a push for the top four. They’re now 9-10 on the season and are only two wins behind fourth spot.

The Bullets split their two Round 14 games, which isn’t exactly what they need to be doing in their current position. They lost to the Taipans by two points before defeating the defending champs in the Wildcats by 12 points, which took their season tally to 9-11 and places them down in seventh spot on the ladder with seven games to come.

The Breakers are on one hell of a roll at the moment and it’s very hard to oppose them, especially on their home deck across the border. While the Bullets have also secured their fair share of impressive wins of late, we can’t see them winning this one and simply have to side with the form team in this matchup.

NZ Breakers -3.5

$1.90
