Horse Racing Tips: Sunday, August 25th
Nowra Race 6 (Market)
(8) Two Seas won her maiden two starts back at Grafton, she settled well back in the field before peeling wide and running on hard. She then came back to her home track at Kembla against the girls at Class 1 level, again settling well back in the run. She was held-up on the rail, got a split one off the rail and made some ground late. She recorded the best last 600m sectional of the race, it was favourable to be up on the speed that day and she did well to get within a couple of lengths. She does have to take on the boys but it doesn’t look much harder, drawn to be mid-field she should be hitting the line hard and looks a great each-way bet.
Muswellbrook Race 5 (Market)
(3) Miss Eporetto won her maiden at the back-end of last prep, she resumed here and sat up on the speed, her condition may have just given way late as she ran second, beaten under half a length. She took on the girls up the Highway at Taree last time, had every chance after a gun ride and although she wasn’t beaten far, she was entitled to get a little closer. I like the fact she is drawn out here as they can ride her positively and get up outside the speed, fully fit third-up, if she does get that spot parked, she will be hard to run down. She wasn’t beaten far when third-up last prep and loses nothing with Christian Reith stepping up. She has placed at 2 of 3 when the sting is out of the ground, If the track is favouring those on the speed, double up.
Pakenham Synthetic Race 3 (Market)
A maiden set weight race at the mile and (1) Macedonian Ruler looks the best of the day anywhere. He debuted here on the synthetic a fortnight ago, was handy in the run but soon after was held-up early in the straight. He was never really clear but attempted to barge through late, he did well to get so close. He was heavily backed at that debut late, steps up to the mile today and the extra 200m should suit. The inside alley is a little query, it wouldn’t surprise me if they hunted him up in the early stages and took luck out of the equation to try and lead all the way. The betting will tell us that (2) Positive Mind will be the main danger, happy to take him on. He has been good at two runs early in the prep on this surface, the problem being here is that he will be giving the good thing a start and will need everything to go right.

Pakenham Synthetic Race 5 (Market)
(1) Able Engine has had four starts this prep, all of them on the synthetic here and he has not missed a place in those four runs. Two starts back he led them up at BM64 grade, kicked around the turn before being run down late. Back to a 58 last time, he led them up again and was strong through the line to win by a couple of lengths. He will once again be the leader, he gets a good claim and actually meets the second horse better at the weights after taking the 4kg off. That race looks the right form line for this, a horse that finished down the track in that has since won at Moe on a heavy track. The runner-up (2) Rock Pearl is also engaged here, he will be giving them a start but did run on hard last time to get closest on the line. He meets the winner worse at the weights and will again be giving him a start, hard to see a different result.
