MLB Betting Tips Wednesday 5th June
New York Yankees at Toronto Blue Jays (9am AEST)
New York has won seven of their last 10 games and will look to continue their hot run of form when they come up against the Blue Jays on Wednesday. Masahiro Tanaka will be on the mound for the Yankees and will be looking to bounce back after taking the loss in his last start. He has a 3-4 record and 3.20 ERA on the season so far.
On the contrary, the Blue Jays have had a rough past couple of weeks. They have won just one of their last 10 games and currently sit 17.5 games behind the Yankees in the American League East Division. Lefty Clayton Richard will be on the mound on Wednesday after last facing the Yankees all the way back in September of 2008. He will be making just his third start this season and has given up three runs in eight innings.
The Yankees start as firm favourites away from home and have the superior pitcher on the mound here. Tough to overlook the Blue Jays horror form over the past few weeks, the Yankees should be too good here.
San Francisco Giants at New York Mets (9.10am AEST)
Fantastic pitching matchup between two stars who have been a little down on form this season. The Giants currently sit at the very bottom of the NL West division with a 24-34 record having won just three of their last 10 games. They’ll be looking to bounce back on Wednesday with their ace, Madison Bumgarner on the mound.
The Mets currently sit five games outside of first place in the NL East division and can gain valuable ground on Atlanta with a home win on Wednesday. Noah Syndergaard will be on the mound for the Mets and will be looking to improve on a 3-4 start to the season with a mediocre 4.90 ERA.
The Mets start as $1.63 favourites here but we are going to side with the away team with a head start. The Giants have won their last two on the trot and four of their last six games.
Boston Red Sox at Kansas City Royals (10.15am AEST)
The Red Sox will travel to Kansas City on Wednesday to take on the Royals. Boston sit 8.5 games behind the Yankees in the AL East division and have won just four of their last 10 games. They’ll have Eduardo Rodriguez on the mound, who has been one of their better starters this season, maintaining a 5-3. The lefty comes into the start with plenty of rest after rain pushed his last start back by a further four days.
Righty Glenn Sparkman is on a mission to win a spot in the starting rotation for Kansas City. The 26 year old has made just two starts since injury forced him into the rotation and was ejected from his last outing after hitting a batter. Kansas city currently sit at the bottom of the AL Central division with a 19-40 record.
The Red Sox should be too strong with one of their best pitchers on the mound. Back them to beat an out of form Kansas City side away from home.
