St George Illawarra Dragons v Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles
Where: WIN Jubilee Oval
When: Monday 7pm
Coming off a tough very close loss last week, when Brisbane went down to the Panthers 35-34, we are looking to redeem ourselves this week when the Dragons take on the Sea Eagles.
Monday Night Football…
1st (Sea Eagles) Vs 9th (Dragons)…
Benji Vs DCE…
From 21 starts the Dragons have won 14 with the Sea Eagles only winning 7. Their last bout was round 8 last year when the Sea Eagles defeated the Dragons 24-18
Both sides come into this one after winning 4/5 of their last games.
Manly is clearly one of, if not the best, team in the league this season, DCE is playing well and being offered multi million dollar contracts for it. Both Anthony Watmough and Jorge Taufua return to the side, Tom Symonds makes his way into the forward line as Dunamis Lui relocates to the Bench.
Benji Marshall has discovered his pre union form helping the Dragons to turn around their season, with recent victories over the Storm and Cowboys. I mentioned it a few weeks ago and I'll say it again, the combination of Benji Marshall and Gareth Widdop is very hard to defend against. Josh Dugan and Mike Cooper have been named, with Jack Stockwell being relegated to the bench and Peter Mata’utia sitting this one out. The Dragons need young Jack De Berlin to pick up the slack left by Injured Trent Merrin. It’s a tough ask.
We’re expecting this to be a close one. Bookmakers have the Sea Eagles as firm favourites, but Monday night’s loves an upset.
Bet On: St George Illawarra Dragons +7.5 ($1.92)
