Decent performance for our AFL fantasy team of the week last Saturday, scoring 812 points as our marquee midfielders in Patrick Cripps and Josh Kelly both saluted with massive scores. Another great five game slate this Saturday and another massive $50k guaranteed up for grabs in the major Draftstars tournament!
We are back with another AFL daily fantasy team of the week for the Saturday slate below. Remember, PlayON are offering a tasty little $1k tournament while there is $4k on the line at Moneyball for the five game AFL Saturday slate!
Defenders: Hayden Crozier, Jarrod Lienert
Lienert has been solid in his first two games for the Power, scoring 79 and 72 off half back flank. He has racked up five marks in each of his games and averages 18.5 touches. Has a good matchup against the Crows this weekend who allow the fifth most fantasy points to defenders in 2018.
Crozier has been performing well over the past few weeks, racking up scores of 107, 97 and 82 in his last three games. Has a great matchup against the Saints this weekend who allow the second most fantasy points of any team in the AFL in 2018.
Midfielders: Devon Smith, Taylor Adams, Tom Rockliff, Jack Newnes
Smith’s last four scores have been 150, 122, 121 and 95 and in those games his tackle counts have been 13, 9, 10 and 8. Racks up points from tackles for fun and generally only needs to get possession numbers in the teens to score well. In the same mould, Rockliff and Adams have racked up 21 and 17 tackles in their last two games respectively. Rockliff bounced back from a slow start to the season and now has scores of 95, 114, 80, 106 and 99 in his last five games while Adams has stepped up in the midfield since Adam Treloar went down with injury, averaging 105.3 over his last three games and 97.8 over his last six.
Jack Newnes has been down on form over the past few weeks with scores of just 49 and 57 but has a great matchup against the Dogs this weekend, who have allowed the second most points to midfielders over the past three weeks and the most by far to forwards.
Forwards: Ben Brown, Jordan Dawson
Brisbane allowed Geelong big man Tom Hawkins to boot 7 goals on them last weekend and rack up 132 fantasy points. They allow the fifth most fantasy points to forwards in 2018 and Brown is in desperate need of a good bounce back performance after scoring just 35 points last week.
Jordan Dawsom was serviceable in his first game of AFL, collecting 12 touches and kicking a goal to score 59 points. I expect his midfield time to continue to increase and the more time he spends in there, the more tackles the big bodied midfielder should rack up.
Ruck: Rowan Marshall
The Dogs allow the most points of any team in the league to ruckman in 2018 and while Rowan Marshall will be playing second ruck to Tom Hickey on the weekend, we expect him to still have an influence with hit outs against makeshift ruckman in Jackson Trengove and Jordan Roughead. Should also hit the scoreboard and averages 86.7 over his last three games.
Note: Rowan Marshall was omitted from the Saints lineup this weekend. Opt for a similar priced ruckman, potentially Ceglar from Hawthorn.
