Another solid week of AFL betting tips as my AFLW Round 5 picks went 3/4 (two at $2.30) to bring my two-week tally to a very profitable 6/8. Also want to mention again that my Brisbane premiership tip at $15 before the season is now into just $1.90! Only two weeks of regular season games remaining, so read on for my 2017 AFLW Round 6 Preview & Betting Tips.
AFL Women's Round 6 Betting Tips
Fremantle Dockers vs Carlton Blues (Friday, March 10th at 6:05pm AWST)
The Blues are still fighting for a spot in the AFL Women's Grand Final and will be desperate to keep their hopes alive with a strong victory in Round 6. Fremantle, meanwhile, have arguably underperformed more than any other AFLW team with just the one draw for the season.
Fremantle probably played their best footy against the Magpies last week, managing five more scoring shots in a disappointing one-point loss. The fact this game is at Domain in a big double header with the men's league means the Dockers shouldn't be ridden off here. However, the Blues simply outclass the Dockers - especially on the scoreboard where the Blues have reached over 35 points 4/5 games, while the Dockers have only managed over 35 once. I don't think the Blues win in a complete blowout in the west, but plenty of value on the margin at Bet365.
Tip: Carlton to win by 1-24 Points - $2.20 at Bet365 (1 unit)
Brisbane Lions vs Western Bulldogs (Saturday, March 11 at 10:05am AEST)
The Lions are now one game clear on top of the ladder and I am loving my pre-season premiership tip for them to win the comp at $15! As long as they stay focused they are looking very hard to beat and that will certainly once again be the case this Saturday against the Western Bulldogs.
The Bulldogs have been gallant in defeat each of the last three weeks, but they can't get the wins on the board. They have a couple of superstars of the competition, but lack depth - which is exactly what the Lions have. This one should be another win for the Lions, with the Dogs likely to continue keeping the margins relatively close.
Tip: Brisbane to win by 1-24 Points - $2.15 at Bet365 (1 unit)
Adelaide Crows vs Melbourne Demons (Saturday, March 11 at 5:40pm ACST)
Despite losing to the struggling Giants last week, Melbourne's clash with the Crows is no doubt the most anticipated game of AFLW Round 6. If the Demons win this game their premiership points will move to equal with the Crows and put them in with a real chance at making the Grand Final.
I really think this is a tight match-up with both teams having ball magnets and goal-kicking weapons. If we consider last week a bogy game for the Demons, you have to think they are better chances than the odds suggest. While I do think the Demons are value here, I like the look of betting on this game to be close either way. Once again Bet365 easily have the best odds for this sort of market.
Tip: Tri-Bet Any Other - Either Team Under 15.5 - $1.72 at Bet365 (1 unit)
Collingwood Magpies vs GWS Giants (Sunday, March 12th at 11:05am AEDT)
The final game of AFLW Round 6 is interesting because the Giants and Magpies are coming off rare wins. Could last week have been a turning point for both teams?
No doubt both teams will take big confidence after their victories in Round 5 - especially the Giants who defeated premiership contenders the Demons. That does, however, mean the Giants are perhaps a little over-valued here. The Pies are still a better team and considering the game is at their home stadium, I'm very happy to be taking the Pies to win and with the usual low scoring, happy to take a little extra value with a margin bet.
Tip: Collingwood by 1-39 Points - $1.70 at Bet365 (2 units)
