Western Sydney Wanderers vs Newcastle Jets (Thursday 7pm AEDT)
The Wanderers were able to escape with a draw in Perth which keeps alive their unbeaten streak but they would have benefited greatly from an eighth straight win as the Roar were able to close the gap on them. They still sit on the top of the table and they are a much stronger side than the Jets.
The Wanderers were able to overcome a poor start and a goal deficit to pick up the victory the last time these two teams met and with this fixture being at Wanderland the Wanderers were pick up the comfortable victory.

Adelaide United vs Wellington Phoenix (Saturday 5.15pm AEDT)
These two sides were relatively disappointing last week and it is clear that at this stage they won’t be fighting for the championship. The Reds are undefeated in their last three matches and have shown drastic improvement since the start of the season. Meanwhile the Phoenix has been inconsistent whilst not being able to impress. They need to get more from Roy Krishna up front whilst Michael McGlinchey has to create more opportunities for his teammates.
The Reds have played a lot stronger at home this season whilst the Phoenix has struggled on the road. Adelaide will pick up the victory in this one.

Sydney FC vs Central Coast Mariners (Saturday 7.30pm AEDT)
This is the match the Sky Blues really needed as they have been poor for over a month and have picked up just the one victory in their last six matches. They are still sitting in fourth position on the ladder but they trail the leaders by six points. The team has lacked in scoring this season and they are averaging just one goal a game which isn’t strong enough to make a title run. Their average should increase this weekend though as they take on the Mariners who are allowing more than two goals a game and are yet to keep a clean sheet all season.
The Sky Blues have won their last four meetings with the Mariners by a combined difference of 10 goals. They will pick up another comfortable win this weekend, as the Mariners will remain locked to the bottom of the table.

Melbourne Victory vs Perth Glory (Sunday 5pm AEDT)
These two sides met a little over a week ago and they are forced to face off again but this time on the Victory’s home soil. The Glory picked up the unlikely win at home as they were able to keep the Victory scoreless. Their resurgence was capped off over the weekend with a 2-2 draw with the table leading Wanderers. However, the sides struggles have been on the road this season and it will be a tough ask for them to hold off a Victory side that will be desperate for the three points. The side has slipped to fifth place after suffering four straight losses. However, this is a champion side and they will bounce back strongly against the Glory.

Brisbane Roar vs Melbourne City (Sunday 7pm AEDT)
In arguably the biggest match of the weekend the second placed Roar will host the third placed City in a match that could decide who is leading the league at the end of round 12.
City picked up a huge victory against crosstown rivals the Victory last weekend to take their current winning streak to four matches. Their attacking prowess will be a big concern for the Roar as the City has scored 29 goals and their closest rival in the goal-scoring department is the Wanderers on 18. The team is working incredibly well together to create quality chances and make the most of them by finding the back of the net.
Meanwhile the Roar was fairly poor against the Mariners on the road last week but they were able to escape with the three points thanks to some individual brilliance. They won’t be able to rely on that this weekend and they will suffer their first loss at home for the year.
