2015-16 EPL: Week 11 Preview & Betting Tips

October 29th 2015, 1:29pm, By: C.McGregor9

The 2015-16 English Premier League season has reached week 11 and the pressure is continuing to mount on the defending champions who suffered a loss to West Ham last week and they were knocked out of the Capital Cup by Stoke midweek. They will are involved in the match of the round as they take on Liverpool. Continue reading for our EPL Week 11 Preview and Betting Tips.

Chelsea vs Liverpool (Saturday 11.45pm AEST)

The defending champions have had the worst start to a title defence in Premier League history and they are now sitting in 15th place and are closer to the relegation zone than the top four. If they are going to revitalise their season than defeating Liverpool this weekend is a must and a loss could see the exit of the special one.

Liverpool are still looking for their first win under new coach Jurgen klopp with two draws to their name. Chelsea were able to lift for their biggest win this season against Arsenal and I expect them to return to their best this weekend, however their defensive issues will prove a problem and these two sides will play out a draw.

Crystal Palace v Manchester United (Sunday 2am AEST)

After a strong start to their season the Eagles have suffered back-to-back losses for the first time this year and it will get worse for them this weekend against the Red Devils. Manchester United played out a scoreless draw against crosstown rivals Manchester City in a match where little chances were created. Their attacking style will return this weekend though as they will push further forward and look to get Wayne Rooney involved in the front third.

Palace haven’t shied away from the big matches this season and continued with a game plan of an open style of play. That could come back to haunt them this weekend though with Manchester United beginning to click.

TIP: Manchester United @ $2.10 with Crownbet

Swansea City vs Arsenal (Sunday 2am AEST)

The Gunners were able to continue their strong form into last weekends match as they defeated Everton. They are tied with Manchester City on the top of the ladder but have a worse goal differential as they sit in second place. Their attack has started to blossom in recent weeks as they have been scoring goals almost at will whereas at the beginning of the season they were creating plenty of chances but lacking that cutting edge that saw them finish off teams. A lot of that is largely due to Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil returning to form. These two are world-class players at their peak and they have been dismantling defences in recent weeks.

Swansea are sitting in the middle of the table and will approach the match against Arsenal with a defensive mind but they won’t be able to hold on as the Gunner’s crisp passing will be too much.

TIP: Arsenal @ $1.73 with Palmerbet

Watford vs West Ham (Sunday 2am AEST)

The season for the Hammers has become even more impressive as they add the defending champions to their now long list of topsides they have defeated. They leapfrogged Manchester United into third place on the ladder and they will have Watford firmly in their sights as a match they should win to retain their position.

West Ham has been strong on the road this season and are undefeated and have picked up 4 wins in 5 matches. Although winning matches against Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City are incredible, picking up victories against sides in the bottom half of the table are just as important.

TIP: West Ham @ $2.90 with Sportsbet

Everton vs Sunderland (Monday 12.30am AEST)

The Toffees faced a tough three-match stretch against rivals Liverpool, Manchester United and then Arsenal and they will be disappointed with only picking up the one point out of a possible nine. They will be looking to get the maximum this weekend to get their season back on track as they have dropped to the bottom half of the ladder.

Sunderland were able to pick up a massive victory last week against their biggest rivals Newcastle, however it wasn’t without controversy as they were dominated in the opening half until they were awarded a penalty and Newcastle were reduced to 10-men at the same time. The momentum of the match was entirely altered and Sunderland was able to extend their advantage in the second half and pick up their first victory of the season.

It could have been a very different story if they were facing a full side and I can’t see them being able to come away with any points from Goodison Park.
