Day 2: Warrnambool Racing Tips: Wednesday, April 30th 2025
Race 7: Sinclair Wilson BM70 – 1000m – 2:45pm (AEST)
(2) The Showvinist $3.00: 3YO gelding who had been terrific 2, 3 and 4 back before struggling last start in open class. Back to suitable grade now, but will need to lug 61.5kg. All his career wins come from this trip and he will be rock hard fit, so demands some kind of respect. Prefer him on the dry track though.
(3) Whistlefield $3.90: Resuming 4YO Mare who has been handy in both her jumpouts leading in. All careers wins have come over this trip and one at this track. Handles the wet and draws a handy barrier. Looks a danger.
(9) Fully Calculated $6.50/$2.10: 3YO Filly who was dominant two runs back before being caught 3 wide no cover most recently in this grade. In that run she was game in defeat and hit the line strongly considering. She draws pole today and with the 2kg claim she remains at the same weight as last outing. Strips fitter and is proven on the soft track. Looks a fantastic bet at the price.
(9) Fully Calculated E/W
$6.50/$2.10 (1U/2U)
Race 8: The Midfield Group Colin Mckenna Wangoom Hcp - 1200m - 3:20pm (AEST)
(2) The Instructor $5.00: 4YO Gelding who is chasing a hattrick here and has been terrific in both runs. Draws a nice alley and had a handy soft track record. Undefeated with Stanley in the saddle. Goes well.
(3) Hedged $4.20: 4YO Gelding who raced three wide no cover last start in this trip/grade finishing behind The Instructor. If he got a better run in transit he probably wins? He meets the Instructor better at the weights this time round, draws a nice gate and gets onto the soft track where he is a two time winner. Ready to win.
(5) Dubai Poet $12.00/$3.50: Roughie of the field who ended his campaign nicely last time out including a win over this trip. Has won at Listed level previously when first up also. Worth thought? Prefer him on the dry track though.
(3) Hedged
$4.20 (1.5 Units)
Race 10: The Whalers Hotel BM70 - 1400m – 4:30pm (AEST)
(1) Boltsaver $5.00: 4YO Gelding who was brave in defeat when lugging 60kg first up over 1200m in this company. Strips fitter now and likes the wet track. Sniff.
(8) Riverina Power $5.50: 4YO Mare who is rock hard fit, but has been safely held in her recent affairs which is a tad concerning. Back to the bool where she has ran well previously and in BM70 class. Proven soft tracker and gets a nice booking with Blake Shinn. Chance.
(10) Persian Spirit $2.60: 4YO Gelding who has been very honest and is yet to miss the trifecta in all 10 career starts. He has narrowly missed in both runs this prep and is now ready to turn the tables. Draws a nice gate, gets Harry Coffey to steer and handles the soft track. Looks to be the one to beat.
(10) Persian Spirit
