Canterbury Racing Tips: Wednesday, April 30th 2025
Race 5: Cogburn Worlds Fastest Horse @ Widden BM72 – 1250m – 2:30pm (AEST)
(2) Debello $4.00: 4YO Gelding who has been handy in all his last three outings notching up 2 wins and a second. Drops back in trip now and remains at BM72 grade. Molly Bourke stays on top and he rates well with the 2kg claim. Draws a nice gate and should be in this for a long way. Top chance.
(3) Llewellyn $14/$3.90: 4YO Gelding who has a handy little record and goes well when Latham steers. Strips fitter now after his first up run and will likely be running on. Value of the field.
(8) Brave One $2.70: 3YO gelding who resumes today after having three trials where he has been solid. Proven first up at Randwick in Saturday grade previously, so this should be a much easier affair. Goes well.
(2) Debello
$4.00 (1 Unit)
Race 6: Ranvet BM78 - 1550m - 3:10pm (AEST)
(5) Naval Commission $5.00: Resuming 5YO Gelding who generally goes well fresh and in unbeaten when steered by Nash Rawiller. Draws pole today and has trialled twice leading in, although they have been plain efforts. No early market support the query.
(6) No Drama $5.00: 5YO Gelding who is hard fit for this and must be considered here off previous efforts. Goes well on the soft track, so expect him to handle the heavy no problem. Draws well and looks a hope.
(7) Our Empress Zoe $3.00: Terrific last start winner where she was gritty to win. She remains at this grade/trip with a nice barrier. Chad Schofield stays on top and there is no reason why she cant repeat last stats effort. Only test will be the heavy track conditions, but if she can overcome that she looks to be the one to beat.
(7) Our Empress Zoe

Race 7: Tab BM72 - 1900m – 3:50pm (AEST)
(4) Perfect Play $3.80: 5YO Gelding who has been sound in majority of his runs this campaign and most recently was impressive in BM78 class only narrowly finishing behind Flying Bandit and Collect Your Cash. Gets an extra 100m now which should suit and is hard fit. Watch the market.
(5) Rematch $7.00: 5YO Gelding who boasts a tidy resume with 5 wins and 8 placings from all his career starts. He is hard fit and ran home nicely last start over 2100m. Back in trip now and back to Canterbury where he has placed on both occasions. Draws nicely and Zac Lloyd steers. Proven wet tracker, so will have some admirers.
(8) Ahuriri $5.00: 4YO Mare who was honest enough when resuming only finishing 1.4L off the winner in tougher company. Strips fitter for this and has a handy second up record. Proven winner on the soft, so expecting her to handle this track. Rates well and Nash for Waller is hard to look past. Ready to strike at 1900m.
