There’s racing at Randwick on Tuesday to accompany the Melbourne Cup. We see a 10-race card with some quality races, including the Big Dance, Barn Dance and the little Dance. The first race is set to commence at 11:45 am (AEDT), and then the last will conclude at 6:05pm. All selections based on a good/soft track. Watch and monitor for any change.

Race 2: Tab Highway Class 3 Handicap 1000m at 12:25pm AEDT
(13) GOLD LOVER ($21 / $4.00) – 3YO Filly who kicked clear lasts start to win by 2L after travelling wide in the early part and sat in the death chair for the entirety. Handy win. Up in grade now and heads metro. Clearly tougher, hence the big odds, but drops 3kg and draws nicely. Grant BUCKLEY sticks on and will be hard to run down.
(7) SMOKESHOW ($9.50/$2.70) – 5YO mare who should be ready for this fourth up. Gets a nice draw and will be hitting the line well. Value chance.
(2) EMPEROR ($2.25) – 4YO short favourite who looks the one to beat in the market. Will need to carry top weight first up which is the only concern. Nash Rawiller to steer boosts confidence. Goes well, but too short for my liking.

Race 8: Precise Air Choisir BM100 1100m at 4:50pm AEDT
(11) DASHING LEGEND ($3.60) – 4YO mare who won very impressively last start where he was first up. Had no luck trying to squeeze out causing her to go on the inside where she kicked clear and won by more than a length, after losing some momentum from the change of direction. Prior to that she ran well at group level on the heavy deck. Hoping for a good/soft track where she performs best and she boasts and impressive record over this track/trip. Primed second up and will be the one to beat.
(11) DRAGON STONE ($6.50/$2.35) – 5YO who hasn’t missed the trifecta last five outings. Gets an easier race here and is worth thought at an each way price. Goes well.
(5) BACCHANALIA ($19/$4.80) – 5YO gelding from the cummings stable who gets second up today with a handy record. Any rain will help and the money will be coming. Draws okay and will be up on the pace. Looks over the odds here.
