Warwick Farm Racing Tips: Wednesday, August 9th 2023
Race 1: Furphy Maiden Hcp 1200m – 1:25pm (AEST)
(3) LES VAMPIRES – 3YO colt who had two very handy trial wins and then only just missed on debut. On dry ground this time round which looks suitable after the two trials. Leaders out of this stable are genially very competitive. Will need to overcome wide gate, but will be hard to run down if he gets to the front.
(11) SUSPECT – 3YO who is untested, but has had three trials. Should be fit and looks as if J Mac is remaining in the saddle after the recent trial. J Mac jumps off the stable mate who is shorter in price in this race. Suspect he will be confident of good showing here. Roughie chance.
(3) LES VAMPIRES – WIN
$2.50 (2 Units)
Race 6: Precise Air BM72 1300M – 4:20pm (AEST)
(2) OTTLIE – 5YO mare who loves this distance and has saluted at this track previously. Back down to BM72 grade after giving a good run in a BM78 last start at Randwick. Draws a nice gate here and should take catching. Would prefer a wet track, but still proven on the good deck. Goes well.
(11) STARS AND BARS – Last start winner who goes up in grade here. Both career wins have come from this distance, so we are in striking range. Looks tougher here, but worth an each-way bet.
(9) MARQUESS – Resuming horse with the dangerous combo of J Mac and Cummings. Has been well supported early in the market, but he is yet to fill the minors from two first up runs. He has had two trials so he may be fit enough to strike. Prefer to watch this time round.
(2) OTTLIE – WIN
$2.90 (1 Unit)
Race 7: TAB BM72 1000m – 4:55pm (AEST)
(6) BOSS – 5YO gelding who won very nicely last start where he chased them down to salute by 2L. Yet to score third up, but should be rock hard fit to go on with it here. Proven over this distance and track. Will need to carry extra weight, but should be flying late and be a winning chance again.
(4) SECRET REVOLUTION – Finished second behind BOSS Last start, but meets him 3kg better off this time out. Draws a wide gate which is the only concern here. Worth thought.
(9) OUR KOBISON – Favourite who won by almost 3L last start. Goes up in grade today and gets an extra 100m which shouldn’t be an issue. Draws well and gets a nice booking of J Mac. Goes well again.
(6) BOSS – WIN
$4 (1 Unit)
