Eagle Farm Racing Tips: Saturday, July 29th 2023
Race 2: Country Music Raceday 9/9 BM78 2400m at 12:03pm (AEST)
(3) READILY AVAILABULL – He’s going super! He’s been up for a while, but his races have been well spaced (for the most part). Did a good job to win three-back in BM75 grade before going to 2500m two-back behind GO MILLO (ties in) in this grade with 59kgs where he was the best of the closers on a day when it was no disadvantage to be up on speed. He then ran a clear second to CARBONETTI LS beating home key rivals OZ LEGEND and SCARLET TUFTY after being held up at a key stage. Draws a nice gate, Ben Thompson back on board, maps to get a nice run behind the speed, goes well on top the ground, and we know he stays the trip. Keen. (2 units win)
(1) SKY OUT – 5YO gelding who is the early favourite in the race coming off a nice 3L win last start as a $1.30 fav. Gets much tougher competition here though. If he can go on with it he will be a sniff here, but suggesting these opponents are much tougher.
(3) READILY AVAILABULL - Win
$4.50 (2 Units)
Race 5: Ladbrokes Communities Hcp 1600m at 1:48pm (AEST)
(1) FAST TALKING – Rising 8YO who looks well placed here. I think the small field plays into his hands as he can sit right up on speed from the low draw and be too strong for them late. The race is devoid of much speed on paper which should suit him. He sat 3WNC LS behind BLAZE A TRAIL over 1400m, hit a flat spot after turning for home, and then came again over the final furlong (was nice late work / beat home SHAQUERO). He’ll get out over even further, but the additional furlong today is a big tick. Hasn’t won second-up before (tiny query) but he ran super second up last prep behind SANTERO with 60.5 kgs. Nice value runner. (2 units win)
(2) LINTHORPE LAD – Won well first up and that hasn’t been too far off the latest runs. Brings his A game and he will be in the finish. Small field may assist, but draws widest.
(4) SHAQUERO – 4YO who finds it hard to win, but confidence in the Waller stable and the early market support suggests he is a good chance here. 1600m is the query?

Race 8: Ascot Childcare & kindy C6 1200m at 3:42pm (AEST)
(1) DEEPOUR – best bet of the day! Lightly raced 5YO who looks like he still has upside to me. I can’t get his second up run out of my head when he showed an electric TOF to win by 2.7L eased down over 1100m at Ipswich (beat RALPHIE that day / ties in). He then went to the Listed Ramornie at Grafton LS, was well backed (SP’d $3.25), but got shuffled back in the run and was forced to stay nearer the inside (closed off nicely). He gets Jimmy Orman back on board today, draws a nice middle gate, and stays on top of the ground. If there’s a genuine tempo and he can get some cover in the run, he’s got the best TOF to run over them. I think he’s the best horse in the race and will be hard to beat. Go well. (3 units win).
