Ladbrokes Park’s Lakeside venue will host a competitive eight race program on Wednesday with gallopers running on a likely Soft6/7 surface. The first gets us underway at 12:25pm and it looks tough to punt on with an even bunch of two-year-old’s going around. The last finishes a touch after 4:30pm.

Sandown Racing Tips: Wednesday, July 12th 2023
Race 3: Tobin Brothers Celebrating Lives Handicap - 1:35pm (AEST)
*Scratched* (10) Delicious Tycoon will be at big odds here and does drop back to the 1400m where she ran quite well in a Listed race at Adelaide at the start of the year. She has been up a while now and is fully fit and this might be his last run this campaign. She was a bit unlucky over the mile last week when 4th at this track on the Heavy and I think the Soft track is better. Ben Melham is on and has won on her previously.
(8) La Vina is also on a quick back up after running 6th last week. He was poor really but I don't think the Bedgood stable would run a week later if she wasn’t working well at home. Has won 2 from 4 starts on the Soft.
(3) Ellen’s License has been running well and is a last start Donald winner. The likely fav here.
(2) Adele Armour is down in class but has been running poorly. She showed a lot of promise in 2022 but hasn’t come back. Needs to lift.
(10) Delicious Tycoon – E/W

Race 6: Ladbrokes Racing Club Handicap - 3:20pm (AEST)
(14) Mighty Sapphire has drawn well in 3 and gets the blinkers on for the first time. He has help from Ben Melham again after the pair placed together at this track when beaten 1L last time. When 3rd up last prep he got the money and at each-way odds he will be hard to beat again. He will get back a bit but he does have a strong turn of foot.
(7) The Swooper won a jumpout 2 weeks ago and will be handy to the pace. If they go slow up front, he can win.
(6) Bitofablarney has a strong finish on him and he will be making his run with Mighty Sapphire. Is fit after a lot of recent jumpouts.
(1) Rivkin returns from SA and will go forward here. This is harder and he is carrying more weight.
(14) Mighty Sapphire - WIN

Race 7: Ladbrokes Odds Surge Handicap - 3:55pm (AEST)
*Scratched* (15) Tarzi Calling comes into this on the back of a 4th in a good race. Damien Oliver is on this time and the only concern is whether he can navigate from barrier 16. Horse have been coming down the outside later in the day though lately so the barrier may well be an advantage. He gets back and though he hasn’t won on Soft ground before, he has won on the Heavy.
(16) Discerning was just fair in a recent barrier trial (5th) but is from a smart stable and has talent.
(17) She’s Booming was poor last start when 9th but is better than that. She likes the Soft and likes this distance.
(5) Blow In has a strong finish on him and has the in-form Carleen Hefel on. Soft track form is solid enough.
(15) Tarzi Calling - WIN

Race 8: Ladbrokes HUB Handicap - 4:30pm (AEST)
(10) Time Quest will be the fav and deserves to be on the back of a 3.25L win at this track 2 weeks ago. He will get back but he was far too good when coming down the outside here a fortnight ago and I expect he will do the same here before connections think of running him in Saturday grade. Newitt is on this time, replacing Shinn.
(3) Our Redente has raced in harder races but he rarely wins. He is versatile and it will interesting to see if he goes forward or back in this one.
(13) Frigid is a flashy grey who will, be running on. Going wide might be the option.
(14) Insulation probably wants further but you wouldn’t rule out the Moody/Meech combination.
(10) Time Quest - WIN
