Race 5: Morse Park Hcp C4 – 1650m (22:45 AEST)
(7) Beau Gosse motored home late last start from a wide draw and draws nicely in gate 3 tonight to go one better and break his maiden.
(12) United Endeavours needs to overcome a somewhat wide draw to win tonight but has placed twice consecutively leading up to this race.
(4) D Star is better than his recent form suggests. A string of wide draws haven’t helped him and he’s sure to appreciate a low barrier tonight with Hugh Bowman aboard.

Race 8: Victoria Park Hcp C4 – 1200m (00:15 AEST)
(1) Joyful Hunter is a recent debutant winner and looks likely to go back-to-back tonight. He exudes talent and was capable enough to win from gate 10 last time around. Gate 5 will be far more suitable tonight.
(4) Savvy Chic returns to the races tonight and is well-placed with Hugh Bowman aboard from gate 4 to be in the finish. Recent trial was good enough.
(5) Exuberant is hard to see finishing outside of the top 4 here from gate 1. It will depend on how far back he gets though.

Race 9: Waterfall Bay Park Hcp C3 – 1200m (00:50 AEST)
(7) Smart Idea will benefit significantly from the mountain of pace entered in this race. If a speed battle eventuates, this horse will be camping back in the field to make his move late.
(6) Reward Smile is unlikely to contest the lead here as well and may just settle behind the leaders under Zac Purton. That puts him in the perfect spot to win.
(2) Majestic Knight will press for the lead from gate 3 and if he gains supremacy early, may be able to fight out the finish.
