Canterbury hosts this week's NSW midweek meeting and we're racing on a good 4 surface amid some pristine and clear weather which we've been blessed with this week. Expect that to make for quality racing at the track today and hopefully this translates into predictable outcomes and a few winning selections which are provided below!
Canterbury Racing Tips: Wednesday June 21st
Race 1: All Too Hard @ Vinery Stud Mdn (12:50 AEST)
(3) Tropical Squall will prove hard to beat on debut today. She has impressed in 2 trials leading up to this race and is a short price for a reason. Gate 1 and expected to lead so won’t be relying on luck.
(5) Balledonne should take improvement out of her first run where she was caught flat-footed early and forced to work hard to make up ground in the straight. If she settles closer here she’s not out of this.
(4) Wezza makes up the top 3 here for the 2yo fillies and does look to have some sort of ability. Whether it’s enough to beat this favourite remains to be seen.
(3) Tropical Squall win

Race 5: Bm72 Hcp – 1900m (15:10 AEST)
(11) Okataina will likely start favourite with a massive weight advantage over the current favourite and top-weight in the race. He’s drawn more favourably too and has good early speed to settle in a handy position early.
(1) Asgoodassobergets can win this race if he gets a comfortable lead but that does look somewhat unlikely from a wide draw with some other speed influences drawn underneath him.
(8) Angel Of Light should be camping just off heels on the rail from gate 1 and presents as the next biggest threat in the race. Might need luck to find clear running but can win if she finishes as well as she did last start.

Race 6: Tab Bm72 - 1200m (15:45 AEST)
(3) Lucky Variety is going to be extremely hard to beat here. She’s trialled phenomenally after winning 3 of her 4 races last preparation and building an impressive and promising record.
(5) Star Spirit was 3rd to Petulant last time at this track which reads well for a race of this nature. She’s drawn well in gate 2 and can make her presence known.
(6) King Of Naples has to go in to the numbers although there are others I prefer to win this race. He can win at his best but will have to be good to beat Lucky Variety.
