Sha Tin hosts a meeting today full of interesting debutants and lightly-raced horses. There are numerous runners going around at short quotes and some of them look extremely progressive and capable of winning races early in their careers. It’ll be an exciting day especially if we can find a few winners!

(3) Inspiring City will be hard to beat here given the way he has performed in his last few races. Zac Purton rides from gate 4 after riding last time at Happy Valley and barely getting a chance to let down behind horses after blowing the start and being clearly last out. The horse was a close 3rd the start prior under Matthew Poon and was crowded during that race as well. More luck here should see the horse winning well.
(1) Happy Forever was 4th behind Inspiring City 2 starts ago and is naturally the 2nd pick as he’s clearly at a similar ability level. Inspiring City looks the winner, so this horse looks like one for minors.
(13) Strive For Glory was 2nd behind Aca Power 2 starts back and is a capable horse when he turns up at his best. The issue is he’s hard to trust and doesn’t consistently produce his absolute best which is why the price is so high.

(7) Spirited Express is not far off the mark of California Ten here. Both are going just as well as each other but the price discrepancy is heavily in Spirited Express’ favour. This horse has been unlucky not to finish closer to or beat home California Ten on multiple occasions recently. With a better draw and some more luck, Spirited Express can win this.
(6) California Ten is the horse to beat after running 2nd to Beauty Eternal last time. He is short especially considering his lack of consistency and low win rate. Zac Purton should be expected to get the best out of the horse so he will be hard to beat.
(8) Amazing Victory is a regular placegetter but a rare winner. Expect the same here given there are a few horses who look more capable of winning but anything can happen.

(5) June Planet is going places. This horse is a huge talent and exhibited some of his ability last start launching into 3rd from back in the field. He’s drawn slightly better here this time for just his 3rd career start and will eat up the extra 200m now getting to 1400. Should win.
(2) Wide Blue Yonder is the clear and obvious danger to June Planet here. He’s drawn well in gate 2 with a highly capable jockey in Karis Teetan aboard. t/d stats read extremely well so expect another strong performance from an in-form horse.
(8) Romantic Laos will appreciate having Zac Purtona aboard here after he was brutally held up for a run last time and probably could’ve made the top 3 had he found clear room. Zac is fresh off a huge Doncaster win in Australia and is in good form, as is the horse.
