Ladbrokes Park (Sandown) hosts midweek racing this week on its Lakeside track with eight races on the program.
With a little bit of rain around, gallopers will be likely racing on a Soft track on a cool 15-degree summers day.
Race one starts at 3:40pm on the twilight program.
Brendan Bunworth brings you his best racing tips for the day!
Sandown Racing Tips: Wednesday December 14th
Race 1
(6) Rackermann is a three-year-old having its second start for the Hayes stable. On debut the Impending x Catechuchu gelding was sent out a second favourite at The Valley and made up pretty good ground over the last 400m. It will be interesting to see what jockey Craig Williams does here from barrier seven. Rackermann won a Benalla jumpout for Amy Hermann on the Soft so conditions should suit.
(1) Cortes is having his second start also and has run a third at The Valley on the Soft.
(4) Lonfire is on debut for the Danny O’Brien team but has had a lot of jumpouts in readiness for this debut.
(8) The Woke Waiter ran on for third at Cranbourne on November 25 and will have benefited from race day experience.
(6) Rackermann WIN
$2.30 (3 Units)
Race 2
(7) Bel Air is having start number four and is first up after a four-month spell for the Anthony & Sam Freedman team. He won his latest jumpout and when he raced last, he was second to the very talented Aft Cabin. Before that run it was a good fifth beaten 2L to Boogie Dancer who also goes very well for the Moody stable. Ben Melham takes the ride and the Soft track should be fine.
(8) Diesel was second at Wangaratta on debut after settling handy and Craig Williams will be positive again here. Diesel has had a winning trial and jumpout and is a definite danger.
(1) Blazk Zous is first up from a six-month spell and may need the run. His second came on Soft ground so he can handle the conditions.
(4) Robert The Puss has placed four of 10 starts and did run well at Ararat when second last time. He is naught from two on Soft ground which is a slight concern.
(7) Bel Air WIN
$2.40 (3 Units)
Race 5
(3) Ima Shelby is a consistent gelding who sees Lakeside for the first time. He was just fair last time at The Valley (fourth) but was better in the two runs prior. His Soft form is very good having run a second at The Valley after going down by a nose the start prior at Geelong. Michael Dee rides again and has ridden Ima Shelby before. With a bit of juice in the ground, the son of Street Boss should go very close.
(1) Oceanography was sixth in the Ballan Cup to Savannah Cloud, who won at the weekend before running a good second at Bendigo last time. He is untried on the ground, but a win certainly wouldn't surprise.
(6) Laybuy was third at Moe on the Heavy last time and being his fourth run in from a spell he should be ready to fire.
(4) Jaffastock can bounce back into the placings after a poor effort last time. Does settle back so will want the pace on.
(3) Ima Shelby Win
$2.50 (3 Units)

Race 7
(2) Hesket made up some good ground at The Valley last time when third and i think the Fastnet Rock x Hard Rider gelding will be better suited by the Lakeside circuit. From barrier nine Dan Stackhouse will likely go back again and make one long sustained run from the 400m mark. He jumps 200m in distance which should suit as it did look like the 1200m was too sharp at The Valley.
(1) Suparazi has drawn well in two and should get a good run in transit for Hannah Edgley. He almost got there at Hillside when 2nd last start and the extra 100m looks ideal. He will likely settle midfield, but Heskett may try to follow him into the race.
(3) Our Boy Bryan won well at Geelong on November 22, but this is a little harder. He is carrying 61kg again up from his winning weight of 59kg.
(5) Pocket Change might get a nice run from the inside barrier. He is on the quick back up and if he can pinch a couple of lengths on his rivals down the straight, he should be in the first four.
(2) Heskett WIN
$5.50 (2 Units)
