Sandown Racing Tips: Wednesday 7th September

Race 1

(2) Artzino stormed home on debut to just miss and Mark Zahra sticks on board the Tarzino x Art Beat gelding for another crack at breaking his maiden. At Pakenham over 1400m Artzino settled well back before unleashing anice run to just go down by less than a length after starting a $2.20 favourite. He had a bad barrier on that occasion (11) and he has drawn better here in three.

(3) Beradino is the danger and was also backed last start to win when running second beaten three lengths. He had four jumpouts prior to that effort so he should be very fit.

(8) Space Journey has drawn nicely in one and has Craig Williams on board. He is another who settled back last time so he may make his run with Artzino on the home turn. (9) Thisismyturf has Damien Oliver on top for Matt Cumani and he won a nice jumpout on a Soft 6 surface in August so conditions suit.

(5) Ferrari Man has drawn a little wide in 10 and is next best.

Artzino Win

$3.50 (1 Unit)

Race 2

(2) Boldinho is a last start winner after running on nicely down the home straight at Pakenham for the win. He was backed to win on that occasion too and didn't let punters down after being slightly slowly away. He had six months off racing but before that was competitive in a listed race at Randwick so he will appreciate this race being a little bit easier than that.

(1) Prairie Rose does have to carry 61.5kg but has the aid of an inside draw and is a last start winner.

(5) Wicklow Lass is resuming and may need the run but is more than capable of filling a placing in this race.

(3) Time Ruler is another who is first up, and he did win well on a Heavy surface in a barrier trial on August 15.

(2) Boldinho Win

$3.50 (1 Unit)

Race 6

(9) Tobaysure should get a good run in transit with Jamie Kah on top from barrier three. First up for Philip Stokes he has the ability to settle on pace or midfield so Kah will have flexibility in her decision on what to do and depending on the pace of the race. He won his Pakenham jumpout on August 24 in readiness for this.

(2) Saint Bathans is a last start Lakeside winner on Heavy surface so if there is any rain around that will increase his chances.

(6) Danaustar has Linda Meech on board and from barrier 11 i think she will look to be positive. He led last start at this track and just got captured later. Fitter today?

(7) Sandy Prince finished third in the same race and was finding the line nicely. Third up from a spell and Oliver on board is a bonus.

(9) Tobaysure Win

$4.00 (1 Unit)

Race 7

(14) Do It La returns to racing second up after a fair effort at Moonee Valley last time (sixth). On that occasion she made up a little bit of ground late but wasn't fully wound up. Before she was turned out for a spell she put in a terrific run at Mornington to just go down by a nose and now she is fitter after running a fortnight ago, she is ready to win. She drops two kilos for this and may be the one out wide in what is the last race of the day.

(11) Culily Ace for Daniel Bowman has been racing well and did only get beaten a nose here last start.

(12) Nijiko has been in the top two her last three outings.

(9) Penfriend may need one more run before it is ready but is one to watch in a few weeks time.

(14) Do It La E/W

$5.00/$2.00 (1 Unit)
