Sydney vs Adelaide Betting Tips
SCG, Saturday 1.45pm (AEST)
Sydney
Injuries: Peter Ladhams, Sam Naismith, Colin O’Riordan, Marc Sheather (Out)
Sheather is still non-weight bearing and will see his surgeon this week after suffering the injury six weeks ago. O'Riordan is still not running and can only strengthen the muscles around the hip.
The Swans have bounced back from a disappointing loss to the Bombers back in Round 16 with very impressive wins over the Bulldogs and Dockers on the road. They won by 17 points in Perth on the weekend on the back of a strong games from young guns Chad Warner and Errol Gulden.
The Swans sit in 6th place on the ladder and have an extremely favourable schedule to come this season. Four of their remaining five games this season come against teams outside of the top eight, which gives them a great opportunity to jump into the top four.
Adelaide
Injuries: Luke Brown, Andrew McPherson, Josh Rachel, Paul Seedsman, Rory Sloane (Out)
McPherson suffered damage to his left posterior cruciate ligament in the SANFL and will be in a brace for the next four to six weeks, ending his season. Brown is experiencing discomfort in his knee and is expected to train late this week or early next week. Rachele will be sidelined again this week but is not expected to miss any more matches thereafter with his hip injury.
The Crows were arguably the better team for the majority of the game against Collingwood on Saturday but couldn’t get the job done in the end. They led by 16 points towards the end of the 3rd quarter but a four goal final term to the Pies afforded them a slight win.
Rory Laird was dominant in sloppy conditions in the midfield, racking up 31 touches and setting a new AFL record with 20 tackles. His running mate Sam Berry added another 17 tackles while key forward Riley Thilthorpe kicked three goals. There is a lot of promise in Adelaide at the moment, and these last few games of the season will be all about getting more experience into their young stars.
Match Prediction
Can’t see the Swans losing this one at home and neither can the bookies, opening with them at $1.11. The line is at 40.5, which is a little too high for me to take them with a lot of confidence. I prefer the overs here. The Swans have put up some big scores at the SCG this season, most recently a 120 point outing against the Dogs a few weeks ago. The last time these two teams met they put up 209 points.
There is going to be a little rain around Sydney on Saturday but I don’t think it will be enough to have a great affect on the scoring.

Prop Bets
Like the odds for Tom Papley to be the top goal scorer in the match on Saturday. If there is some rain then it should bring the smalls right into play and at $6.60, he posses the best value of any of the Sydney forwards.
Papley Most Goals ($6.60 at Ladbrokes)
Rory Laird has been an accumulating machine this season. He has had at least 30 touches in his last seven games and only missed that mark two times this season. Averages 36.0 in his last seven games.
Laird Most Disposals ($1.95 at Ladbrokes)
