Another Wednesday means some good midweek racing to get us over the hump. There’s meetings at Warwick Farm and Geelong where we can hopefully find a few winners. Billy Bestford has had a look across the three meetings and has found his best bets for the day.
Remember to head to our dedicated horse racing website, RacingBet.com.au, for more in depth previews of the best race meets of the day as well as a bunch more betting tips.
Horse Racing Tips: Wednesday, December 1st
Warwick Farm Race 1
(1) Boomsong has been one I’ve had in my blackbook off his trials where he looked extremely sharp. Two of the most recent pieces of work were both at this track where he hit the line nicely under his own steam, winning easily. If he can transfer that sort of form to race day I expect he’ll be pretty hard to beat. Looks to have some upside and is trained on this track so that home experience should help him get around today on debut.
Geelong Race 2
Thought (11) Swerving from a good draw and Oli on would be hard to beat here. Has looked the part at a few recent jumpouts and I don’t think she’ll have to be a superstar to be winning this maiden. Should see al favours from barrier 2 and and looks a horse with a bit of upside.
Warwick Farm Race 5
(7) Viennoiserie was a good winner on debut, beating home a horse who has since come out and won next start. She looked good at the trials leading into that debut run and looked even better once Tim Clark asked for an effort in the straight. She trialled well enough on a heavy 8 so the conditions shouldn’t pose too much of a concern. Clark sticks for the ride again today and she will only need to take natural improvement from that first up win to be right in this.

Warwick Farm Race 6
(5) Rule Of Law is an interesting runner today. Is having first start since switching stables from the Snowdens while also having first start since being gelded. He took on some pretty hot races early in his career and is well back in grade for a race like this. I like the claim for Duggan which gets him in relatively light and he has performed well on wet tracks in the past. Won a barrier trial by 5L eased down leading into this and something tells me we might see the best of him tomorrow.
Geelong Race 8
(14) Hauteur is coming out of one of the hottest maidens this year with the form just continuing to stack up behind her. The horses which ran 2nd, 3rd and 5th that day have all since come out and won. She’s got a heap of upside about her and won very easily in that race. Will take improvement from that run and she looks capable of taking the next step here today.
