Another Wednesday means some good midweek racing to get us over the hump. There’s meetings at Rosehill, Sandown and Doomben where we can hopefully find a few winners. Billy Bestford has had a look across the three meetings and has found his best bets for the day.
Remember, our dedicated horse racing site Racing Bet has full, in depth previews for the key race meets of the day, so be sure to head over there to check out the tips from Tim, Billy and Trent.
Horse Racing Tips: Wednesday, November 17th
Sandown Race 2
(6) Blazero ran 2nd to a pretty good horse fresh and he should take a bit of fitness and improvement out of that. There was a bit of money around for him on the night and I like him stepping up in trip here now. From barrier 1 he should see every favour up on speed and any give in the track will be a bonus. He’s only had four starts to date and I still think we haven’t seen the best out of him yet.
Rosehill Race 3
There was plenty to like about the debut win of (11) Comrade Rosa who bolted in at Kembla Grange over this trip. That performance backed up some impressive trials leading in and I think this horse looks above average. Jmac takes over today and she looks good enough to handle this step up in grade and with even luck I expect her to be going close.
Sandown Race 6
Pretty keen to be with (4) Ruru here who was smashed in betting last start but just had too much work to do up on a hot speed in a good race at Flemington. He draws low today which means he can probably do a lot less work in the run. Both runs this prep have been very good and he looks ready to peak stepping out to this trip 3rd up. Hard to beat.
Rosehill Race 6
(5) Too Much Caviar was an easy winner at Randwick on Cup day in this grade. Went forward and was just too hard to run down. That was on the back of some nice trials so I think he’s come back in pretty good order. Rises 2kg on that performance but is drawn very softly in gate 1 and he looks to get the lead here on his own very easily. Has only missed the quinella once in five career runs and I think he might just be able to get away with this one again.

Rosehill Race 7
(11) Zarastro is an exciting horse for Chris Waller and he was super impressive when winning first up. That was just his second career start following a very good debut, finishing behind Paulele last prep. He put them away in a few strides last start and while this is a tougher race today, I expect him to do a similar sort of thign here. Jmac will get him back with some cover from barrier 10 and if he can follow something into the straight, he’s got the turn of foot to beat these.
