AFL Sydney vs Gold Coast Betting Tips
Marvel Stadium, Saturday 21st August 1:45pm (AEST)
Sydney are gearing up for a finals series on the road and will be looking to finish the home away season off strong. They’ll start this clash at around five-goal favourites against a Gold Coast team who are just simply playing for pride.
Match Prediction
Sydney were able to bounce back from their disappointing loss against St Kilda with an important 14-point win against North Melbourne last weekend. The Swans copped a scare late in the game when the Kangaroos were storming home, but were able to steady the ship to go onto win their sixth game from their past seven outings. It’s been a thoroughly impressive season from the young Swans who look let to finish in sixth spot on the ladder.
Gold Coast dished up another one of their poorer performances last weekend when getting smashed by Essendon to the tune of 68 points. That loss came after a good win against the Blues the weekend prior, which highlights the type of week-to-week inconsistency that has plagued the Suns for years now. The Suns are now set to finish in the bottom four in what may well be Stewart Dew’s last season as coach.
Sydney must have the best medical staff in the business because they’ve had a maximum of five guys injured at any one time this season. This week we’ll see Josh Kennedy and Nick Blakey forced to the sidelines, but replacing them are the likes of Jake Lloyd, Buddy Franklin and Callum Mills. In contrast, the Suns have been ravaged by injuries since the start of the season and will be without key players Brandon Ellis, Hugh Greenwood, Lachie Weller and Jarrod Witts for their final match.
Sydney haven’t quite been at their best over the last three weeks, but with the huge ins they have for this match it’s no secret that they’re looking to finish off the home and away season with a bang. While this match is played on the neutral ground at Marvel Stadium, we still expect the Swans to be far too good and to be able to cover the five-goal spread relatively comfortably.

Same Game Multi
For our three-leg Same Game Multi for this clash we’ll be focusing solely on Swans players who should all get great opportunity. First up we’ll be locking in Isaac Heeney to record 15 or more disposals. He’s achieved that in six of his last seven games with the only exception being a 14-disposal game last weekend, which he should bounce back from. Secondly, we’ll be taking Errol Gulden to kick a goal at any time for our value leg. The young gun has kicked five goals in his last four games and at least one in each of those outings and remains a really good price. For our final leg we’ll be backing in Will Hayward to kick a goal at any time which he’s done in each of his last 12 games, kicking multiple goals in eight of them.
