AFL Richmond vs Hawthorn Betting Tips
MCG, Saturday 21st August 1:35pm (AEST)
In one of few games on this weekend with no finals implications, it will be the Hawks who start as the heavy favourites against the disappointing Tigers. At the time of writing the Hawks have been given a three-goal handicap in Alistair Clarkson’s final game as the coach.
Match Prediction
Richmond had their finals and three-peat hopes dashed last weekend when getting absolutely smashed by a far superior and desperate GWS outfit. The Tigers found themselves down by 50 points at half time and went onto lose by 39 in what was their 12th los of the season. They now find themselves in 11th spot on the ladder and with no chance of playing in September.
Hawthorn recorded their most impressive win of the season last weekend when they were able to fend off the Western Bulldogs in Tasmania. Despite coughing up the lead in the third quarter, the Hawks managed to regain control and finish as the far better outfit. Impressively, that’s now three wins in a row for the Hawks as they look to finish off strongly and head into the off-season with some real momentum.
The Tigers will be missing a huge number of key players for their final game of the season, most of which are out through injury but a couple due to form. Stars Trent Cotchin, Dustin Martin and Shane Edwards are the most notable absentees. For the Hawks, all of Jack Gunston, Will Day and Changkuoth Jiath are key players that won’t be taking part on Saturday through injury.
It’s crazy to think the Hawks are three-goal favourites against the 2x defending champs in the final round of the season, but that’s the reality this Saturday and for good reason. The Tigers have been atrocious over the last couple of months with seven losses from their last nine games, while the Hawks are playing fantastically well with three wins on the spin. The Hawks also have the added motivation of this being Alistair Clarkson’s last game as coach, so we expect his troops to get the job done for him in emphatic fashion.

Same Game Multi
We’ve got a great value Same Game Multi to kick things off on Super Saturday. For the first of three legs we’ll be taking Chad Wingard to record 25+ disposals. He’s averaging 29.3 over his last three games and attended the second most centre bounces for the Hawks last weekend. For the second leg we’ll be on Jack Graham to get 20 or more disposals. Graham has had 36 and 20 in his last two games and attended the most centre bounces for the Tigers last weekend and that shouldn’t change with all the outs they have for their final game. Finally, we’ll be including Luke Breust to kick 2+ goals. If the game goes as we expect it to, then the Hawks forwards should get plenty of looks and there’s no one better to be on for multiple goals than Breust who’s kicked 2+ goals on 12 occasions this season.
