2021 AFL Round 22 Fremantle vs West Coast Tips
Optus Stadium, Sunday 15th August 5:10pm (AEST)
The Eagles have absolutely dominated the Derby in recent years and have also been the slightly better team on the season overall. As a result, they will start this clash at around 15-point favourites.
Match Prediction
Fremantle had a chance to jump back into the top eight with a win at home over Brisbane last weekend, but were instead humiliated by 64 points by a far hungrier team. That loss was the Dockers third from their last four games and saw them slip down to 12th on the ladder, but still only four points outside the top eight. The Dockers must now win each of their last two games to give themselves a legitimate chance of making finals.
West Coast couldn’t bring the required intensity for long enough in their clash with the ladder-leading Demons last weekend. The Eagles made a big run late in the fourth quarter of that clash after play was suspended, but the damage was already done and they finished up nine-point losers. That loss was the second in a row for the Eagles who are taking the long route to shoring up a finals spot. They enter this weekend in seventh spot with 10 wins to their name.
Fremantle certainly have some legitimate excuses for their poor form over the last couple of weeks because their injury list is one of the most extensive in the competition. All of Brennan Cox, Nat Fyfe, Joel Hamling, Rory Lobb, Michael Walters and Nathan Wilson are unavailable for selection. For West Coast, they’ll get some big names back this week with Luke Shuey, Liam Ryan and Tom Barrass all fit to play, while Shannon Hurn and Liam Duggan are the key players who are forced on the sidelines.
West Coast have absolutely dominated Fremantle in their head-to-head meetings for a number of years now. In fact, the Eagles have won each of the last 11 matches against the Dockers by an average margin of 39.4 points. The lacklustre form of the Eagles this season will give the Dockers a little bit of encouragement heading into this clash, but we still expect the Eagles to get the job done fairly comfortably here.

Same Game Multi
There’s plenty of value on offer in the player prop markets for the final match of the round. For the first of our three-leg Same Game Multi we’ll be backing in Jamie Cripps to kick 2+ goals as our big value leg. The crafty small forward is seeing them really well at the moment with 10 goals in his last four games including 2+ in three of those. Secondly, we’ll be taking Tim Kelly for 25 or more disposals, which he’s been able to do in five of his last six games and he just looks in really good form. Last but not least, we’ll be including Jack Redden for 20+ disposals. Redden has accumulated 20+ disposals in all 16 games he’s completed this season and is coming off a 30-disposal game against the Demons last time out.
