AFL North Melbourne vs Sydney Betting Tips
Marvel Stadium, Saturday 14th August 7:40pm (AEST)
Both North Melbourne and Sydney are coming off losses in Round 21 and will be looking to bounce back immediately this Saturday night. Despite being the away team, the Swans will start as the very short-priced favourites.
Match Prediction
North Melbourne enjoyed a 20-point lead at the main break against Richmond last weekend, but were absolutely destroyed in the second half 73-20 en route to their 15th loss of the season. That loss was their worst performance since resuming from their Round 12 bye and brings them just one loss away from securing their first wooden spoon since 1972.
Sydney have been the surprise packet in the 2021 season but really shot themselves in the foot with their loss away to the Saints last weekend. The Swans entered that fixture on a five-game winning streak and pushing for a top four spot as a result, but were thoroughly outplayed and now look as though they’ll have to settle for a 5th or 6th placed finish.
North Melbourne only have a couple of players forced onto the sidelines for this clash, with Ben Cunnington, Tom Powell and Aidan Corr the only key players missing. For Sydney, they literally only have three players in their whole squad who are unavailable. Callum Mills, Jake Lloyd and Sam Naismith are all sidelined with different injuries, while Lance Franklin is set to be managed for this clash.
North Melbourne were in some really solid form leading into their most recent clash against the Tigers, but what they dished up in the second half was extremely poor and simply won’t cut it against a quality outfit like Sydney. There’s every chance that the Kangaroos can bounce back and make a good account for themselves on their home deck at Marvel Stadium, but we suspect it still won’t be good enough to cover the spread against a Swans outfit at near full-strength and looking to bounce back from a loss.

Same Game Multi
It’s likely this match won’t be a total blowout so player props from both teams are certainly in play here. For the first of three legs in our Same Game Multi we’ll be taking Oliver Florent to collect at least 15 disposals at really nice value considering he’s averaging 19 per contest on the season and has hit 15 in 18/20 matches. For the second leg we’ll be backing in Jack Ziebell for 20 or more disposals. He’s been a regular in our SGM’s this season and just continues to rack up disposals on a consistent basis down back for the Kangaroos. Finally, we’ll be taking Errol Gulden to kick a goal at any time in what’s probably the best value player prop in this match. The young forward has kicked four goals in his last three games and seven in his last seven and should get plenty of opportunities against the likely wooden spooners.
