We’ve got a good day of racing all around the country today with quality meetings at Caulfield, Kembla Grange, Eagle Farm and Morphetville. Caulfield will play host to the feature races of thae day with the G2 PB Lawrence Stakes the headline.
Billy Bestford has cast his eye across the meetings and has found his best bets to help you have a fill up this Saturday.
Horse Racing Tips: Saturday, August 14th
Kembla Grange Race 3
(3) Ziegfield somehow didn’t go past the winner last start where he looked a certainty at the 200. Should be ready to peak now 3rd up from a spell and I think this rise to 2000m will do him no harm. He looks a one-paced kind of horse so the longer trip should suit and Jmac can give him a perfect steer from barrier 4. Expecting he can be presented at the right time and be too strong for these.
Caulfield Race 3
(8) Diamonds In The Sky led them up on a suicidal tempo when fresh and was always going to struggle to finish the race off. He was only gobbled up late there and should take heaps of benefit from that run. Back onto a dry track is a massive key for him and he loves racing this track/trip. Should go straight to the front from the low draw and suspect he will be hard to run down.

Caulfield Race 4
I know she’s only had the one career win but (3) Bella Nipotina is a classy horse and looks a huge winning chance back in this sort of grade. She’s been highly competitive in some deep races and comes into this following a last start 3rd behind Exhilerates and Away Game up in QLD. A quick glance at her form tells you that she should be going very close today. Little freshen up will suit with her only career win coming when 1st up.
Morphetville Race 6
The 1st up win of (3) Beau Rossa was something special on a very wet Morphetville track in the Lightning Stakes. He now gets out to 1200m which is his pet trip, winning 2 from 3 and clearly showed the wet conditions today shouldn’t post any issues. He is unbeaten from two 2nd up runs while he has a race fitness edge on main rival Behemoth so I think this horse is ready to take the next step into the elite grade. Will Clarken has him firing on all cylinders by the looks of things and looks ready for a crack at a race like this. Expecting he will go very close here and then tackle some big group races in the Spring.
Kembla Grange Race 8
(1) Tiger Of Malay clearly rates as the best horse in this race and hence will have to lump 61kg. However he is a Group 2 winner and ran 3rd in the G1 JJ Atkins behind Converge last start before going for a spell. He beat Converge earlier in that prep and there are some massive wraps on that horse heading into the Spring. Hoping the booking of McDonald can offset the sticky inside draw because with any luck, this horse should be winning.
