AFL Richmond vs North Melbourne Betting Tips
MCG, Saturday 7th August, 4.35pm (AEST)
The reigning premiers desperately need a win to keep their season alive, meaning this clash against the bottom of the ladder Kangaroos couldn’t have come at a better time. Will the Tiger dynasty come to an end on Saturday?
Match Preview
The Tigers played out a thriller against the Dockers at Optus Stadium on the weekend, going down by just four points. They now find themselves one full game outside the eight after having lost six of their last seven games and with a percentage of just 98.0, they’ll likely need to be perfect in their final three games against North, GWS and Hawthorn to make the eight.
Despite the glaring injury to Dustin Martin, the Tigers are arguably the healthiest they have been all year at the moment, so they seem primed to make a late charge at the finals if they can just find some form. Dion Prestia returned to the line-up on the weekend while Kamdyn McIntosh and Nick Vlaustin could return this week. That leaves just Noah Balta, Bachar Houli and Ivan Soldo on the injury list alongside Martin at the moment.
The Roos have had an exciting finish to the season that will have no doubt given fans plenty of hope for the future. After an utterly dismal start to the season, they have won three of their last six games and have been really competitive against good sides, the most recent of which displayed in a 20-point loss to the Cats on the weekend.
With three games to go and a four-point gap to the 17th placed Hawks, I think the Roos could conservatively go into tank mode for these last three games to make sure they secure the No.1 pick in the draft.
The Tigers start as just 10.5-point favourites here, and despite their troubles of late, I like them to cover that line. With so much on the line and a pretty healthy squad at the moment, they should have enough in the tank to win this one and keep their season alive. I think they have been better over their last three weeks than their critics suggest, beating the Lions, before facing tough games against the Cats and Dockers away.

Jayden Short has been on an absolute tear over the last month. In his last four games, he has racked up disposal numbers of 31, 27, 26 and 27. He is $1.72 to pass the 25-touch mark again this week so we will be using that as our value leg.
Dion Prestia returned to the Tigers line-up on the weekend for his first game since Round 15. He had an immediate impact in the midfield, racking up 31 touches and there is still a little meat left on the bone for him to have 20+ this week.
The final leg of our SGM is Jack Ziebell to have at least 20 touches. He has done so in 16/19 games this season and when he played the Tigers last, he had 26 disposals.
