Match Prediction
Two premiership contenders will battle it out on Friday night for the third week in a row in Round 12, after the Lions and Tigers played out a thriller in Round 10 followed by another great clash between the Demons and Bulldogs last week.
The Demons got the better of the Dogs in that clash and jumped to the top of the ladder as a result. They now sit one game clear at the top, having lost just one game for the season while racking up a very healthy percentage of 138.5.
After a slow start to the season which saw them win just one of their first four games, the Lions have bounced back to win seven on the trot and now sit in third place on the AFL ladder with a 8-3 record. They were far too good for the Giants at home on the weekend, claiming a 64 point win on the back of another great game from dynamic midfield duo Jarryd Lyons and Dayne Zorko.
The Lions are pretty settled on the injury front at the moment and could get a massive boost this week with star midfielder and reigning Brownlow Medalist Lachie Neale potentially coming back into the line-up. The Demons were dealt a bit of a blow in their win over the Bulldogs as Ed Langdon went out with concussion and will miss this week. He joins the likes of Adam Tomlinson and Jack Viney on the sidelines.
All things considered, it’s no wonder these two teams have been so impressive so far this season given they have probably been the two clubs least effected by injury.
What a tough game to call. If this was being played at the Gabba then I’d have no issue picking the Lions to win their eighth straight game, but up in the Northern Territory, this game becomes a little harder to pick. The Dees have won three of their last four games in Alice Springs and start as slight favourites here. I think their defence holds up well against this Lions side and they win in a close game.
Note: Through the week, this game was moved to neutral ground in Sydney. Still have confidence in this tip.

Same Game Multi
Zac Bailey to accumulate 15 disposals or more will be the first leg of our Sportsbet same game multi. He has done so in every game since taking on a larger midfield role, averaging 19.5 touches over his last six games. Max Gawn fits into a really similar mould, having past 15 touches in his last four games straight and averaging a very healthy 19.0 per game across 11 games this season. The final leg will be Dees half backman Christian Salem to surpass 25+ disposals. He made his return to the dees lineup in the win over the Bulldogs last week, and should continue to increase his game time. He has passed 25 touches in six of his 10 games this season and averages 26.5.
