AFL St Kilda vs North Melbourne Betting Tips
Marvel Stadium, Saturday 29th May 4.35pm (AEST)
Both the Saints and Roos have been pretty poor this season and are desperate for a win to kickstart their season. Will the Saints finally prove something to their wanting fans?
Match Prediction
Don’t really have a lot of positive things to say about either of teams heading into this game. The Roos have been deplorable in season 2021 so far, winning just one of their 10 games and losing to the Bombers by 72 points on the weekend. They have shown signs of life at times, most noteably in their win over the Hawks and competitive games against the Cats, Demons and Magpies, but that is about all you can say.
The Saints have looked good when they are up and about and willing to put pressure on, but when thay pressure has dropped off, they have looked like the worst team in the league. They have been absolutely clobbered in three games this season, resulting in a 75 point loss to the Bombers, a 86 point loss to the Tigers and most recently, a 111 point smashing at the hands of the Bulldogs on the weekend.
The two ruck setup is such an important aspect of the Saints style but they’ll be without Rowan Marshall for the next four weeks. Zak Jones, Dan Hannebery, Jade Gresham, Jake Carlisle. Dean Kent and Ben Paton are also on the sidelines, while a few big names could potentially be omitted this week after the embarrassing display against the Dogs.
The Roos injury problems are too long to list at the moment. 13 players are already ruled out of selection this week for the Roos, a story that has been similar all year, making it extremely hard for them to be competitive even against bottom eight sides.
Every time I think the Saints are going to fall completely off a cliff this season, they get a bit of a reprise with an easier matcup. They lost two straight in Round 2 and 3 before a win over the Eagles at Marvel. Lost two straight again in Round 5 and 6 before a big win over the Hawks. Now they are on the back of two straight losses and get a great opportunity to bounce back against the worst side in the league.
They start as 27.5 point favourites here, and while I like them to win, that is a hefty line considering their form of late. I like the Saints by 1-39 here.

Same Game Multi
Building this same game multi around Saints forward Tim Membrey to boot 2 goals. He has been a little quiet this season so far but has kicked 2+ in three of his last four games. Expect Saints to be better than the five goal performance they trotted out against the Dogs so Membrey should be in the action. The two safe legs are both Seb Ross and Jack Ziebell to have 20+ disposals. Ross has achieved the feat in his last four games on the spin while Ziebell has surpassed 20 in all but one of his 10 games this season.
