Moonee Valley Racing Tips: Friday, 19th November
Race 2
Pretty keen on (2) Perfect World who looked very good first up winning in weaker grade. I like her rising to the mile now and she’s been competitive in group and stakes races earlier in her career. He should be able to handle the rise in grade tonight and from barrier 1 he can see an economical run in transit. Damien Thornton has ridden her to both her career wins to date and hopefully they can make it a third together here.
Race 3
(3) Mckeever went down as a very short favourite first up. Was unlucky there just not having things go right at all and I think he’ll enjoy getting out to 1200m. You’d expect off natural fitness and improvement 2nd up he’ll be much better tonight and he maps to get a nice run in behind the speed. He’s still only had the four starts and clearly there is a bit of upside to come from him. Hoping he can win well here and see him take the next step this prep.
Race 5
(9) Sweetzou absolutely flies first up and she bolted in fresh last prep in a very similar race to this. She went on to tackle some much tougher races and held her own so I think she looks well placed here after the 2kg claim. She’s had a win over this specialist 955m trip and a recent Caulfield jumpout was solid enough. In a pretty open race I think she can pop up and win.
