Another Wednesday means some good midweek racing to get us over the hump. It’s Magic Millions Day at Wyong while there’s also a strong card at Sandown where we can hopefully find a few winners. Billy Bestford has had a look across both meetings and has found his best bets for the day.
Remember to head to our dedicated racing website RacingBet.com.au for more in depth previews for race meets around the country daily.
Horse Racing Tips: Wednesday, December 15th
Wyong Race 2
(1) Viren looks well placed today dropping back to a bm64. He’s been going around in Saturday bm72s and 78s his last four starts and has been far from disgraced there. Will only carry 58kg after Reece Jones claim and he draws nicely in barrier 1. Hopefully he can find the front and will have a bit of class on these.
Wyong Race 3
(3) El Nido was absolutely smashed in betting leading into the debut run. She ended up just grinding away into 4th there but looked like she would appreciate getting over further. The stable are one of the best at getting their hoses to improve getting out in trip and hoping she’s no different. I think she’ll take a stack of improvement out of that debut run and she has a bit of upside.
Sandown Race 4
(9) Viviane looks a horse who is on the up this prep and got the maiden win finally out of the way last start. She’s got some upside and has some strong form around some good horses throughout her career. Third up now with a confidence-boosting win under the belt, she can go on with it and progress through the grades.
Wyong Race 4
Happy to be with (6) Snitzonfire here who stuck on really well last start in a handy Saturday race. That was his first start for a couple of months and it was the first time he had been beaten in four career runs. Expect he’ll be better for that, they’ve thrown the blinkers on for the first time so I’d expect he leads and will prove tough to run down.
Sandown Race 6
(2) Pal D’oro bolted in fresh when racing on the speed and kicking away to win by 2 lengths. Takes the next step up in grade today but he’s lightly raced and looks to be a bit more progressive than some of his key rivals here. From a good draw Allen will put him in another handy position and expect him to run well again.
Want to make mention of (12) Obi who looks one of the better value bets on the card. He rarely runs a bad race and was a flashing run for 2nd when first up over 1200m. Extra trip suits here and his 2nd up record is good.
Value: (12) Obi $10/$3.20
