Horse Racing Tips: Tuesday, June 9th
Pakenham Race 1 - (Market)
(1) Dubian Myth has probably had enough chances being a maiden still after 9 starts but am happy to be with him again on an each-way basis. He has had three starts this campaign and this will be his first go on the synthetic track. Two starts ago he was in the same race as today’s favourite (2) Rip City, was held-up for a furlong early in the straight before hitting the line well. He only finished a length off Rip City that day who was up on the speed and out of trouble, he probably should have finished a place closer. Last start at Echuca he was back on a soft track which is clearly not his preferred surface and looked only fair in the run home. Given that we are getting better than even money a place, he gets the blinkers off and off a wet track, he looks good value on an each-way basis to break the duck.

Pakenham Race 4 - (Market)
I am a big advocate of “horses for courses” and even more so when it comes to synthetic tracks. (4) Dance Ready was having his first go on the surface at Ballarat in maiden grade last time, after sitting beside the speed he accelerated hard when getting the split and ran away to win by almost 6 lengths. He lost a plate and was string through the line in what was as dominant of a performance as you will see. He does have the wide draw and up in grade, he can just sit off the track if the speed isn’t too strong and will run on too well again. Take the $3 now!
Scone Race 2 - (Market)
(3) Trieste had trialed well prior to making her return to racing at Newcastle in early May, she didn’t have much luck after being held-up and wasn’t beaten far in a blanket finish. She then was at Hawkesbury on the soft track and looked a little plain as an easing favourite and had every chance. She comes to a hew stable and is now calls this her home track with Brett Cavanough taking over, she has the good SP profile and finds an easier race. The change of home may be just what she needed but she won’t be getting many more chances from me after being beaten as favourite at her last two and three of her five runs.
Scone Race 4 - (Market)
(3) Niccirose was a dominant maiden winner by almost 5 lengths at big odds after sitting outside the leader at Wyong, he obviously had some issues and was not seen for just on a year at the races. He had trialed well enough prior to resuming at here at the track, the form guide will tell us he was beaten almost 9 lengths and officially run last, but forget that. He was three-wide throughout (did have cover), held-up most of the straight until inside the final furlong and never really got a crack and the jock basically gave up. A little concerning that he was 30/1 and today we are asked to take single figures but I can see him being a drifter in the market and getting out to some good each-way value.
