Horse Racing Tips: Thursday, November 14th
Seymour Race 4 (Market)
(1) Moi Choux is a first starter from the Richard Laming yard, the son of Jimmy Choux has not been to the official trials but has had three jump-outs in preparation for this. The latest was at his home track of Cranbourne, he jumped ok, settled on the speed and looked to be cruising into the straight. When the co-leader outside him was popped the question, Moi Choux found another gear with the jockey not even flinching. He won the jump out easily and was going further in front the further they went, he looks to be very talented. The main danger could be the other debutant (4) Southern Lights for the Noonan stable. He was a recent trial winner and looks to have ability, but the latest jump-out by our pick was superior in my opinion.
Pakenham Race 3 (Market)
(9) Sigrid is a Mick Kent runner that hasn’t shown a lot to date. She debuted at Kyneton a little over a month ago, got well back and didn’t show much in the run home. She then went to Ballarat in a harder maiden against the girls and was much the same, never in the race and not showing much dash at all. Two key things today, they have applied the blinkers to her for the first time and she is coming back in trip. Hopefully she can settle closer and the gear change can do the trick. (5) Last Bling looks the danger, she was good on debut when beaten as favourite, making up ground from a mile back and the extra trip looks to suit. If there is no money around for Sigrid, don’t have Last Bling going around a loser.
Pakenham Race 4 (Market)
(6) Dance Ready debuted at Mornington last month at huge odds, he had every chance but was beaten into fourth. He was again at the Peninsula track at start two and started favourite, sat up outside the speed and stuck on well for second. He has shown enough tactical speed that once again he should be on the pace early. The horse that finished fifth in her last start has since come out and won at Pakenham on the heavy track. The soft track shouldn’t worry her here, she seemed to handle it well enough last start. She steps up in trip by an extra furlong, I would love to see her land on the bunny, she will be incredibly hard to run down if able to dictate the tempo and not make it into a sit-sprint affair.
Beaudesert Race 5 (Market)
(5) Quart Pot won on debut at Kilcoy over this trip when leading all the way, she showed good speed and ran them off their feet. She has had two runs back this prep, was well beaten into third after witting wide without cover on the sped resuming. She then went to Toowoomba in a harder race against her own age group, had a soft run behind the speed but looked a little flat second-up. She has the inside draw here and comes back in trip, Emma Ljung jumps back on, she is the jockey that teamed up with her to win at maiden level on debut. This looks easier, expect that she will jump and run again and be very hard to catch around here.
