Great night of Harness Racing coming from Gloucester Park this Tuesday, the 21st of May. We take a look at some of the key races on the card and give our betting tips here
Gloucester Park Harness Tips
Race 2 – 7:50pm AEST
The second heat of the 2YO Fillies Diamond Classic sees leading trainers Greg and Skye Bond draw barrier one with (1) Weewah. Two starts for two placings, Weewah gets her opportunity to try and hold the lead. She was second of seven runners over track and distance last time when recording a 1:59.3 mile rate behind Power And Grace. That form line looks good when you see Sweet Maddison ran fourth; that filly then ran second and first at Gloucester Park. (3) Red Hot Courage and (4) Moon Goddess look the main dangers.
My Rated Price: $2.20
Race 5 – 9:15pm AEST
One of the most improved horses in recent months is the Giles Inwood-trained 6YO gelding (2) Batavia On Fire. Two wins and three minor placings since joining the stable, the gelding has been eye-catching, and this looks a very suitable race for him. He has gate speed and looks the most likely leader in the race. Five starts ago he led comfortably and won at Pinjarra, running his last 800m in 55.9 seconds and last 1200m in 85.5. His most recent placing was in 1:54.8 behind Luis Alberto and Mad Robber which is terrific form for this race. He could start very short.
My Rated Price: $1.35
Race 8 – 10:40pm AEST
I’m keen on the Bryan Cousins-trained (1) Kohli who will lead from his inside draw. Recent form suggests the 4YO gelding is going to prove hard to beat and he should be able to notch his third career win at start 29. The main dangers, (2) Allwood Peacemaker, (3) Jiving Jolt, (10) Ignite The Passion, (11) Our Virtuoso and (12) Jilliby Jake all have similar form due to racing each other recently and speed maps determining the finishing order. This looks one of those races where having the position-in-running advantage could determine the winner.
My Rated Price: $1.80
