Harness Racing Tips: Saturday, June 22nd
Melton Race 3 – 6:03pm AEST
A claiming pace over 1720m that should see (6) With Gusto fly across to lead with Chris Alford driving. He was run down by No Apachemee who is favourite in an M0 despite a back-row draw. Prior to his defeat, With Gusto was a back-to-back winner defeating (1) Might Be Luck and (4) Crazy Dave in separate races. He should go very close once again and $10 looks a great price about the 10YO gelding. Might Be Luck also looks a big price and he should run well from the perfect draw.
Value: (1) Might Be Luck $16
Menangle Race 1 – 5:20pm AEST
(3) Argyle Beach brings strong Queensland form to Menangle, including two wins and three minor placings from her last seven starts. She has won 17 from 51 and despite back-to-back unplaced runs, both efforts were fine. She couldn’t hold them off two starts ago when recording a 1:54.0 mile rate for the 2138m journey at Albion Park. She gets her chance to lead over 2300m and should run well. (11) The Black Prince has definite claims as he drops in class from Group 2 racing.
Redcliffe Race 5 – 6:43pm AEST
The Redcliffe Derby looks a great race for (3) Dazzle Me who has won five from seven career starts. Four starts ago he was beaten 9m by Sicario which looks good form for this race. The key will be trying to cross (2) Regulus at the start. If successful, Dazzle Me looks the horse to beat around Redcliffe. The race opens right up if Dazzle Me is unable to find the lead.
Redcliffe Race 6 – 7:09pm AEST
The Redcliffe Gold Cup is a standing-start race over 2613m and the field assembled looks terrific. (10) Northview Hustler suffered his first defeat in Queensland last start when dropping out to run last. Happy to put the pen through it after breezing in 1:53.4 for the 2138m. His record from stands is 11 starts for five wins and the 10m handicap looks fair. (1) Mo Casino has the perfect draw and will run a huge race if able to lead. (11) Lilac Flash returned to his brilliant best when second to Colt Thirty One. That trio looks hardest to beat but there are other chances.
(10) Northview Hustler
$4.50
Redcliffe Race 8 – 8:05pm AEST
The Redcliffe Trotters Cup also takes place over the 2613m stand with a field of 12 trotters lining up. (3) Lavros Texas looks to be racing in good form with two wins and a placing from his past four starts. He was second first-up from a spell when beaten a neck by Northern Muscle. Five of his seven wins have been in stands and recent victories have come over Needle, (1) Spirit Walker and (11) Greg The Great. Plenty of respect for class trotter (10) Majestic Courtney who is unlikely to find the lead this time.
