Welcome to our harness racing preview and betting tips for racing at Gloucester Park on Tuesday, March 26th.
There's nine races on tonight's card and we've picked out our three best bets on the card below!
Gloucester Park Harness Tips
Race 3 - 5.20pm WST
Art Tutor was runner up at his first start for trainer Ryan Cummins. He chased home Rosies Ideal which is good form and the mile rate of 1:56.6 is good time for midweek company. Once again, he has drawn barrier three with Michael Grantham driving. If he can land a spot close enough to the speed in the moving line, then he can be a threat late at double figures. Midnight Man should lead and will take catching, while Combat Crusade also has strong claims. Art Tutor is backable at $6 or better.
Race 5 - 6.20pm WST
Vincenzo Peruggia comes out of an FFA race where he was outclassed. Before that he was most impressive when racing outside of Theo Aviator in 1:57.3 for the 2536m. He will have to sit outside Lagoon Stride here and that horse will run a big race out in front. Vincenzo Peruggia will need to be driven well because he not only has to outstay the leader but have enough in the locker to hold off Highroller Joe who is the best closer in the race. It looks a great race for a Tuesday with three leading chances and then Beltane who is next best and an each-way chance. I’ve got Vincenzo Peruggia as a $2.50 chance in the race.
Race 7 - 7.19pm WST
Kitura has good gate speed and trainer-driver Nathan Turvey will likely have a look for the lead over the 1730m. If the mare can lead, she will be hard to run down but could still be a threat if she were to race 1 out 1 back. Jodies Pal was a better run two starts ago at Pinjarra when sitting behind Kitura and running past her. Her gate speed can be hit and miss, however. Shannon Suvaljko is an elite driver and should at least get her to the pegs, either leading or trailing Kitura. I will go with Jodies Pal at the better price over the sprint distance. Anything better than $2.80 is a backable price.
