Gloucester Park Harness Tips: Friday, June 7th
Race 1 – 7:10pm AEST
American owners of (1) Lady De La Renta are having fun with the 4YO mare and after a string of bad barriers, she comes up with barrier one and will attempt an all-the-way win over the 2130m. (6) Golden State is the horse that could try and cross at the start but I think Lady De La Renta will have enough gate speed to resist the challenge. Golden State or Saying Grace, more likely the latter, will have to sit parked. Based on current form, Lady De La Renta should prove hard to beat. (2) Mattjestic Star is also value from barrier two.
My Rated Price: $1.55
(1) Lady De La Renta
$1.95
Race 3 – 8:10pm AEST
I think one horse is clearly the one to beat in the form of (2) Mighty Flying Deal. However, the price doesn’t look backable and I am happy to back two runners to oppose the favourite. Over the 2536m, the race could have more winning contenders and the first is (6) Crystal Sparkles. All three runs have been good since the 5YO mare arrived in WA and she was third behind Thereugo and Mighty Flying Deal last start. Expect her to run well outside the leader once again. (5) Ona Happy Note doesn’t appear to have great form, but the sectional times suggest he will appreciate this class and he gets the services of Gary Hall Jnr. He was held up last start in a stronger race and was second three starts ago behind The War Nurse. Looks an each-way chance here.
My Rated Prices: Crystal Sparkles $7.00 and Ona Happy Note $15
Value: (5) Ona Happy Note $15
Race 5 – 9:10pm AEST
The FFA looks a terrific race over the 1730m and Gary Hall Snr has a strong hand with (1) Campora, (3) Zennart, (6) King Of Swing, (8) My Hard Copy, (9) Tact Major and (12) Whozideawasthis. Campora has been a personal favourite of mine and the 6YO gelding has certainly surprised over the past few months. He looks the most likely leader from barrier one with Kim Prentice driving and could prove hard to beat based on a third behind Whozideawasthis and Chicago Bull two starts ago. He led throughout to defeat Caviar Star four starts ago in 1:55.2 for the 2130m. (4) Vultan Tin is in the mix but don’t like the 1730m as much for him.
My Rated Price: $3.30
Race 9 – 11:10pm AEST
Four key chances in the race with (1) One Off Delight and (2) Convert Denario drawing the inside two barriers. (4) Our Rhythm N Blues and (9) Robb Stark look the other chances. I have Convert Denario on top and the recent WA addition has won both starts for trainer Clinton Hall. The times have been solid to date and whether he is able to find the lead or look to race in the moving line with cover, or behind the leader potentially, Convert Denario should be finishing strongly. One of the four should mentioned should win the race.
My Rated Price: $2.50
(2) Convert Denario
$2.80
